Hey dude, the guide is pretty damn good, i was playing my rogue like in cataclysm and found it lacking in the damage, i tried reforging everything to mastery and the damage improved alot. Thanks to your pointers i managed to get my stuff together and git gud. All in all, excelent guide, very helpful for someone stuck to the old times

Sensus, could you make some subtlety videos of you in Random BGs running with cloak and dagger? I feel like it's better in BGs because it allows you to open with just a silence rather than a silence and a stun and then get a full kidney after that and then if you use Shadow Dance during that kidney, then you can get a cheap shot right at the end, allowing for 3 or 4 seconds of silence and then 8 seconds of stun during which you can spam ambushes and eviscerates to get a lot more damage.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The thing about the rogue class right now are the only advantages we have are our openers/burst. Our self heals are awful compared to pretty much every other class and anything more than 2v1ing decent players, it's pretty unlikely that you're gonna win because other than our burst our overall damage output when spamming backstab/hemo isn't that high. It's just the way the class is designed right now.

NEVER open with garrote on a; Monk (roll), Warrior (Heroic Leap), and Hunter (Disengage). Those abilities will completely mess up your opener, making you look like a fool. I may of missed a few other abilities, but those 3 are the first that come to mind.

One trick that u can use is: When u have saped u do garrote but at the same tim ase du do garrote u turn 90* and then u dont break the stealth and u can contineu whit your opener. With that trick u will be 200% better rogue!

When it comes to openers, putting points into rupture delays your burst and gives you less time on your target while they are stunned. If you glyph hemo veins, The fastest burst you can do is with the glyph. you can Shadow blades and shadow dance, hemo>cheapshot. Right there after those 2 moves, you have all your damage boosting debuffs and buffs applied, with 5 combo points ready. From their you could do whatever burst opener you want. I dont like opening with garrote unless its absolutely needed. Garrote costs 10 more energy, puts Sang veins for 18 sec, and requires stealth or dance. Hemo is 30 en lasts 24 sec and can be used whenever. Me personally I find hemo better for applying sang when glyphed.

Great guide! Do you prefer using shadow blades first after an opener, or shadow dance? I know you shouldn't really use them together.

They work great together. Problem is the person you're trying to use this combo on will most likely trinket and then disorient you, therefore you will loose both of them, and you're most likely screwed. But IMO you should begin with SD, and when he's lower hp you should stun and use shadow blades if you really want to.

This is great, but the only thing i have trouble with understanding is the stat priority. I try to follow this guide Subtlety: Hit(3%) > Expertise(3%) > Agility > Crit (20%) > Mastery* > Expertise(6%) > Haste However, how do i figure out what the percentage of each is on my rogue? I look at crit chance stat for example, and it is telling me in big white letters that I have a 36.09% crit chance. But, then I look at the writing outline in orange and it tells me I have (in brackets) a 16.27% crit chance It's like that for hit, and the rest of the stats..Which one do I go by? Thanks,

This spec would be almost worthless in arena but would probably be really strong in BGs where you can get a lot of restealths. I have a rogue and would make the video myself but A) my computer's not good enough to fraps while playing adn B) rogue's not really geared this season.

I think shadow dance allows you to use abilities that you normally could use in stealth, but doesn't actually stealth you. Which is why subterfuge is a better talent overall, especially if don't open with shadow dance.

testing that last rogue opening on a dummy in org, I noticed that sometimes Cheap Shot goes much faster than 4.5 seconds....does that have to do with something I'm doing wrong ?

Is it really worth it to Shadowstep kick a healer? I feel like you would be wasting a 20 second CD to get a 3 second spell lockout. I guess it would make sense right at the end of a match when you're going for a kill but besides then, it kind of feels wasteful, especially in the several seconds you spend walking back to your original target.

I don't know am I really that bad at pvp, but every time I try to do a good opener I end up dealing like 20% of enemy health before stun falls of and they start destroying me. I was really hoping into getting into pvp but I just can't have fun in it when I can't win a single 1v1 fight (unless enemy is really low gear ofc).
