I had just the opposite experience with him. I was appreciative of many things he taught, but going to confession with him was off the table, as it was for many.

Yes, he is definitely a good confessor. One time while in line for Confession, there were 2 priests available and he was one of them. There were at least three of us that let people behind us go on ahead because we were all waiting for the same priest.

The sacrament of reconciliation should be taken very seriously and not lightly. When I was attending a Catholic church in Hartford CT called Holy Trinity and the priest himself Fr. Charles Jacob doesn't take the Sacrament of reconciliation very seriously at all. He says that the sacrament of reconciliation is no big deal. And he even gave out Holy Communion to those who haven't gone to the sacrament of reconciliation. And that to me is very disturbing and it's very concerning to me. So after hearing about what he said, I've decided to stop attending his church and go to another catholic church in New Britain, Saint Francis of Assisi and at that church, everyone takes the sacrament of reconciliation very seriously like myself.

My speculation, Model of the Church council where the Lord himself present, is in Caesarea Philippi , -” After everyone speculating about the identity of Jesus, the Lord then turn to his disciples and asked them, to formulate a definitive (doctrine) answer (Ex-cathedra) which will be exercised by St. Peter and his successors.”- another word, St. Peter's answer that Jesus is "the Christ, the Son of the living God. " is a dogma and the Lord himself present and approved it. Matthew 16 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
