I kind of wish Zenkaiger, even if they were toylines only, did Sixth Ranger editions of Gears, they could have been silver with that team's Sixth Ranger on the front instead. The Avataro Gears did that, though I imagine it's because they knew they wouldn't be doing too many Gears and wanted a unique look for DonDoraGoku/DonToraVolt when he used them. But it's also that why I need to get a Gokai Silver Avataro Gear at some point just for my post-Gokaiger legend items shrine since I have the Gokai Red version as well as the Gokaiger Gear.

Honestly I was in complete burnout and fatigue with the Sentai gears after zenkaiger was over, not to say the Avataro gears were bad…I just didn’t feel like collecting the same 45+ gears again. I do like what they did giving us different ranger variations with the Don Blaster and the other toys. But it wasn’t my vibe. Though genuinely this is the best gimmick for sure in the last 10 years.

Great video! I really enjoyed watching it. I do love the gears but I am biased towards the ranger keys since Gokaiger was my first and favorite Super Sentai series so I would rather have the ranger keys even with all of those sticker problems and the rareness of some of them.

To be real honest, Gashapon Gears have a much smoother use of paint compared to the other two types, which are virtually identical. Then again, each Legend Gear is unique, and you can't find them by other means besides where they came from.

@Soundout12 the art is just to flat, they look near stock photoy and turned me off them day one. The gears looked like they belonged to am evil organization, shame we didn't get to see the proper gold, near treasure looking items actually in the villains hands. I still think the monsters for Zenkaiger should have been based off the Sentai's worlds where the villains just corrupted them into the Dark Gears and that mutated the Kajin instead of these random worlds. The random worlds thing actually fit Donbrothers tbh

Nice video again! Also I did both the Zero-One and Saber gears on the DonBlaster, both end up ending on "Iza... Henshiiiiiin!" (The Zi-O only has the generic "Kamen Rider!" but Saber's go "Kamen Rider... Saaaaaaber!"), and the all red gear included with the Blu-Ray release of the Super Sentai Movie Ranger 2021 set also does the all super sentai roll call, but adds "DonBrothers!" at the end. I was surprised on the last one that it added DonBrothers at the end despite it being a Zenkaiger made-gear.

This is just me spitballing, but to me it was a bit obvious that Bandai didn't expect for the Zenkaiger line to do well, mostly because it was in the middle of the pandemic, so they were sent to hold down the fort, and then the Gears did way better than they were expecting and decided to do the thing again in the Donbrothers line, but by addressing most of the issues people might have with the original line. And I say that because, I'm a nerd, and I tried to calculate the amount of combinations a Sentai Gear can have with the two notches and the physical limitations and I think they can have only 64 different combinations, meaning this wasn't future proofed at all. Which make me wonder how they are going to do Gears for a 10 years anniversary of either series, if we have one.

Gears remind me of Bandai America's Engine Cells, honestly. A slab of plastic with a sticker on. Weren't the Hasbro Ryusouls like that too? It feels like a real downgrade to me over gimmick items with substance. Even stuff like Kyutama you can sit and fiddle with, there's nothing to Gears.

I think the benefit of Gears over the other two is they have the shiny chrome and style to them and the features in their toys are good.

@@Soundout12 I suppose. I love Go-Onger, but the Engine Soul system is pretty bad, the toys being way too reliant on them to make sounds. And the Seiza Blaster doesn't even have enough pins for every Kyutama. Some of the Kyutama don't even have official designs.

I don't think I'll ever get into these hokey gimickey transforming devices. Especially, ESPECIALLY, the shouting voices. Entering highschool around Wild Force, the phone morpher was fine because it reminded me of Mega Silver digimorpher (digi?wtf) but I saw no point of the Wild Force morpher having arms and legs, that was the beginning of dislike for me.
