I hope they did gave us that option, even if we need to use module to color our ship I'm okay with that even prefer that way, and ofc we need to find a module with the color that we want, I think it's the best direction they could take to give us option to color our ship without making ship hunting less viable.

It's definitely a great new ship type, and one I'm guessing is going to be the new solar sailer you'll see in the Space Anomaly. The one gripe I have is that it's TOO good, design wise. It's really REALLY detailed. Every new update, the art style is getting more and more complex. This, in itself is good: the devs are improving their skills and making each successive update of a higher quality, BUT the drawback is that old assets are becoming bland. Like the new freighter interiors in Endurance: high detail and good design, but it looks out of place compared to frigate catwalks and derelict freighters which both use the old assets. Same thing here with Interceptors: super high detail and great aesthetics, but they make ships like haulers, shuttles, and fighters look all the six years old they are The leaked space station designs give me hope that the oldest assets might be getting a well-deserved makeover

Basically, these updates belong in the sequel. That’s what came to mind when I got my interceptors. I have 3 now and use the b class more than my S class ships (hauler, exotic, and a fighter. I accidentally swapped my utopia ship and can’t get it back in my main save) Every interceptor ship I see I immediately think “man, these should be in NMS sequel”. That and whole alien cities

The only thing they would add to a sequel that I don’t foresee them adding as updates (at least to ps4 and xbone) is whole city planets and and probably multiple races. I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t make a sequel tbh

It's low-key a crime to introduce such a diverse class of new ships and not give us 3 more ship slots, they all look so amazing and unique it's hard to hold myself to 2 without getting rid of some other ships.

I think they added the 3 slots in last update not only because of the utopia speeder but also thinking about the upcoming interceptors, 12 ships is double what we could have a year ago but yes, still feels to little even tho I only use 2 or 3 at most

I think 10, 14, and 19 were my favorites from this bunch. I'm heavily partial to dark blue and black, as well as ships that unfold in cool ways upon taking off/landing. Can't wait to find the perfect ship once the update finally lands on Switch. These videos have me drooling...

The amazing things about sentinel fighters is that they are so diverse So you don’t have to stick with a particular design your not too interested in, you can just go find another with a completely different appearance

I was hunting for the new interceptors and i found one that looks like 14 but all red, it looks so goofy i also found one that looks like 15 but black and red, unfortunately, the best i could find was a B-class, but from these ships, 32 was my favourite

Because there are multiple copies of each ship on the planet if you find one you like its easy to make a squad of wingmen from them.

completely addicted to hunting these things now. the more I look at them the more I like the wierd ones, the fuel and hover situation on these ships has made them my fav too. early game getting O2 to make warp cells is a chore but with interceptors not an issue :)

Easy way I have found to view and find that most desirable ship is to go to a Pirate Station and watch the ships that come in. Check all the ones that you are interested in to see exactly what they look like when flying because the sail ships come in many different sail shapes and colors and have some units to purchase them. Of course they will mostly be c-class but that is the normal find.

Picked this game up on the steam sale...I'm about 40 hours in, but I did manage to get one of these ships, only a B class, but that's ok! Mine looks a lot like #11, but it's very blue. Pretty awesome that it can hover on planet, none of my other ships can do this. Thanks to the awesome KZbin community covering this game! It's very helpful!

I had a No.11 the but went after another ship look the annoying bit of the No.11, is that Y shape on the front. When in the cockpit, you have part of the top of the Y floating above the cockpit window as you fly.

These new ships are procedurally generated, there isn't really a limit to how many ships there are. Each one you find will always be unique. 😉

Interesting note, the planet I did the ship mission on seemed to only spawn the one version of the sentinel ship. Tried it three times. Anyone else notice this?

It’s true that the ships will be procedurally generated and have many variations. But each system will only have one corrupted Sentinel, planet, and only one variety of ship. The same as also true for the multitool.

It's probably a bad investment on their end, but I hope they go back and update the artstyle of older assets and things. The new Artstyle is incredibly detailed and clashes with a lot of the older things like Planets and it just makes things feel really off.

I didn't realize there were so many types of sentinel ships that you could get. After seeing how many there are, now I think I'll start going on the hunt for sentinel ships. My favorites were the minimalistic ones with the small or no wing designs.

They did say these were procedurally generated ships, so there could be literally millions of combinations depending on how many ship parts are swapped each time.

I've been seeing a lot of really cool Sentinel ships coming into the space anomaly! Just hang out in there for a while and watch them come in and out. A lot of them also have really cool animations when they go into flight mode! I worked so hard to build my fleet, and now I will likely be replacing almost everything with sentinels! Lol!

This is a great gallery of ships but it misses out on how each looks while flying. I have one similar to 31 and it transforms (pun intended) into a fabulous ship in flight, but isn't nearly as cool ust sitting there in the anomaly. So, your next mission is to get ships or find friends so you can capture the real beauty of a lot of these in flight. Thanks again for this though, good start.

I was telling a buddy of mine the other day: "How great would it be to be able to have a salvage mechanic on our capital ships? To be able to go out and search for different variants of ships, bring them back to the capital ship and scrap them for parts to make our own ships exactly the way we want them?" Really feel like that should be implemented in NMS at some point, I'd be spending hours getting units just to go ship hunting and have the parts to customize things as I want them.

NMS has the best ship designs in all space games by now. The procedurally generated ships were good enough. But those blow my mind. I think that they are AI assisted. As AI can make almost endless design variations based on original idea (and if you don't have the AI will give you something to work on). So in a sense those ships are truly sentinel AI ships. When I said on reddit that AI design art in game development will make a revolution my account was trashed with so many downvotes. You see the result now. Just wait when they will start making planet biomes not procedurally generated but AI generated. Procedurally generated biomes were able to make no more than 30 unique planets. God knows what AI is capable of. Some planets will be truly nightmares others will be unearthy paradises.

There are a few iI really like, sadly I have yet to find a good one in my game that I like. Almost all of them are the same ones. I have 1 S class, so I'm holding onto that one, scrapping all the C to A's since I ran out of room holding ships... they collect fast. They are a great way to make money as well. Even scrapping a C class can net you 34-40 million units. So all you that have just started, this is a great way to make units legit, if you are like me and don't want to dupe things.

I'm not a fan of the 'switchblade' wing type, just because the way it physically disconnects and reconnects in a new orientation (as opposed to using a hinge) feels to much like "partsforming:" too me. -see transformers etc toys

These are fantastic. Despite all the amazing free updates the thing keeping me from getting back into it is not having the gameplay loop where we can modify our ships beyond equipment. No paint and no choice for adding or removing visual parts. But this looks promising!

I saw three next to each other in the anomaly, all COMPLETELY different from each other. Already got mine, based off number 5, a nice orange and black! But it wont do. I need a gold and white one somehow to match my collection 🤔 These ships are super nice, and im over the moon that they share the same variety as the other ship classes, making them extremely viable for ship hunters... But for me, its no Hauler 😂 Good to see you back in the realm Taylor! Have an S class day 👌
