Underrated walk this one! Hopefully it stays off the radar somewhat.

@@LucasChamberlain you've just put it *on* my radar!
@LucasChamberlain3 жыл бұрын
Haha that should be fine, as long as it doesn't become the next Hartz Peak and full of crowds.

@@LucasChamberlain Lucas, your love of the wilderness and of Tasmania is infectious (though maybe that's not a good word in 2021!). I'm loving catching up on your many adventures, so thanks for your generosity to film, edit and share them. I hope you get to work in guiding or ranger work - your talent and knowledge and attitude would serve you well. Is that your summer job perhaps?

Terrible news about the 19 year old walker who fell while doing this walk a couple of days ago. Condolences to his family and everyone who knew him. I hope everyone who knew him is getting the support and care they need.

He was climbing Moonlight Buttress when he fell. Heartbreaking.

An excellent short walk. Some great camera positioning and those views are amazing.

Thanks Jeff 😀 some of those camera shots did take a little longer than usual to set up aha, so I'm happy it was worth it! And yes, very fine views 👌

Done this one a few times. Great central position to see a lot of south west Tas. Jealous you had such a great day. Nice work.

The view of the Sentinel range from the summit of Mount Wedge is amazing. I want to do the Mount Anne circuit, but heard it may be closed to public access for at least one more year.
@LucasChamberlain4 жыл бұрын
You and me both! The Mt Anne circuit looks terrific 😀, (I've only done Mt Anne as a daytrip). I guess we'll just have to keep an eye out for updates about track closures and hope the reopening is sooner rather than later.

Hi, wondering how long this took you? Keen to try this as well as the Needles as a day trip.
@LucasChamberlain4 жыл бұрын
Hey Andrew, from memory this walk was about 2 hours one way. It may have been a little quicker, but I'm not totally sure. The Needles is even shorter, only about 1 hour to the top from the road. Both are excellent walks though, with The Needles being a lot more straightforward.

There's nothing like a beautiful, clear day without haze and not even flies. In short ... idyllic.

I was wondering if the Sentinel Range was accessible! Great views!
@LucasChamberlain5 жыл бұрын
It certainly is accessible! Steep track, a little undefined at times, and not signposted at the carpark, but it does exist haha

Hi Lucas, what gps handheld device do you use? I've seen it i some of your videos and "What's in my pack" video. Also what website do you download the gpx files from? Thanks.
@LucasChamberlain5 жыл бұрын
I have a Garmin GPSmap64. It's a little on the larger side, but I've been pretty happy with it. I'm actually yet to download a gpx file. I've always just recorded a breadcrumb trail, and saved that as a Gpx flile for the return trip. There are some websites out there with downloadable files though like hikinginsetasmania. Plus I might actually be able to send a Gpx file to someone which I created too.
