Well, he did 1. Use the correct hero for the strat, buffs, and such. 2. Play on a map that wasn’t too hard 3. Lose a few times 4. Use a tower with high rate of fire, while using said buffs, which is generally the best case scenario. So I think it makes sense.

I think you're wrong and this map is actually almost ideal for this strategy: 1) All engis and most sentries can hit two lanes at once 2) The awkward angles don't matter because they're all piercecapped anyway

Dude I've been saying this for ages!! If your defense is lacking MOAB damage, then literally slap down a few 3-2-0 engis at the front of the track on strong, and they do an UNGODLY amount of fortified MOAB damage given their price. They can be discounted in their entirety too, which makes them even cheaper! Very underrated tower/upgrade :)

I only recently realized really how helpful engies are. Yeah overclock is great and bloom trap makes tons of money. But cleansing foam is such a good tower for handling camo and leads, while it and sprockets are a really good boast to MOAB damage They’re such cheap towers to throw down when you need some extra moab damage or help with camos

Cleansing Foam is an unreliable decamo (will not reliably work on all camo rounds) and a bad anti-lead option (just get an 000 or 200 alch) that is mostly useful for being able to manually target off-track to decamo DDTs. Its x1x and x2x upgrades also do nothing to help its decamo (contrast xx3 wiz, which is also bad, but at least you get early camo detection on xx2; meaning you can buy xx2 for r24 and xx3 for r32, when an engi requires x3x for r24). Sprockets is too expensive for what it does, has weird and inconsistent placement on its sentries, completely falls off lategame, and is outclassed by almost every other earlygame and MOAB damage - if you want good MOAB damage for cheap, get a 6 power Velociraptor which will also do helpful ceramic damage.

​Well I use Enginner all the time. They are the Early Game kings for me. Cleasing Foam works fine for me, specially when using more than one. And yes velocitaptor is better, but enginner is a not a suckass base tower like Beast Handler so is easier to build up. It comes down to a matter of preference.

nah, cleansing foam is quite bad for decamo. the only reason you pick foam over other decamo is just the track. if it has bend, signal flare i s the way, has good water placement? sub, a single lane? pick shimmer and later go for POD The only times foam is good when the track is quite far from place-able spot and no bend for mortar. or u just want to build overclock forlater

Thing is, the engi is rarely ever your best option, foam works reliably but lacks the pierce, sprockets are rarely ever something you intend to build so they're just kinda there, by the time you hot r40 you already want to have some setup for your midgame. Sure, if you can make it work, there's no problem, it's just usually not the strongest option

There’s rarely a reason not to get it on most maps, it lets you handle camos for basically no cash for most of the game. And pierce nowasays is something you can buff easily with heroes and towers

The fact that homeland also doubles the speed sentries get deployed is just so good. Even after it expires you have a lingering army of turrets standing by for the cooldown. We love engi

It's fitting that this challenge is done on a BMC map, as Sprockets spam was a wild strategy back then. That, alongside Bloon Trap spam (Bloon Trap in BTD5 Steam/BMC Steam was so broken).

I think they pale in comparison to cleansing foam on flash -- NEVER pierce capped, only timed out. One or two (usually just one) cleansing foams would COMPLETELY negate all regrows or camos, and if there were any left over, monkey knowledge sentries with the camo detection would clean up...

Holy cow, this brings back memories... This map was my first real Contested Territory attempt (i reached like, round 50 something, which is pretty impressive for CT). I didnt have Temple at the time so i just abused pierce buffed Spectres (pierce buffs make explosions explode multiple times in BMC) plus Bloonchippers (bloonchipper, no explanation needed)

This video does a good job showcasing the strength of the engineer sentries, even sentry champion. By itself, it's _alright_ (Not quite up to par with other T5s), but when you start buffing it, it's power multiplies really fast. Also, take a shot everytime ISAB calls an engineer a sentry

This is a cool challenge, the fact that we tryin' lower tier upgrades is very interesting to watch. I would like to see the Sentry Expert has a chance to challenge some of custom maps in the pools. I really like the Idea of that tower.

hey isab i got a challenge, idk if this is hard or ez but i js thought of it u have to beat chimps but once u place a tower down u can’t use it again if u click off ( u can’t use abilities or interact with towers other then changing targeting) so like once u place a dart monkey at the start and do ur upgrades and click off u can’t use interact with that dart again

I haven't tried in a while but I'm pretty sure the alch buff only affects the original engi, not the sentries, meaning that it only boosts the sentry spawn rate.

Sprockets is one of those upgrades I like, for the sheer quantity you can make, and being a straight up better double guns. When engie was newer, I used a lot of sentry champion (paragon).

Question for isab but anyone feel free. Why is 0-5-2 glue storm better? Because in normal bloonarius boss events, the glorm can deal with all of its spawns spewing out up to tier 3 I believe. And I know the glue gunner itself doesn't matter in terms of gluing moabs but the bottom path doesn't. But the corrosive top path does. I know it's the slowing affect overall but I feel that the corrosive is still better.
