2020 update. At temperatures below 20F the unit will not heat the sunroom and I have to turn on the baseboard heaters. It isn't totally useless, but it can not be your sole source of heat. As far as durability is concerned, the unit still works, but output is neither as cold nor as warm as it originally was, even after a filter cleaning. I've enjoyed it for six years and don't regret buying it, but it is time to move on. I will be replacing it with a different brand this spring.

You are leaking R410a slowly. You probably have your flare connections go bad. Making proper flares and properly torquing them is the way to leak free connections. You can change brands all you want, but that won't solve your problem. It's a common issue even with certified techs. Use these videos to properly do them. Also most flares built into the line set aren't good either. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n323fp9_iZuErMk kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJaaeXaNmNyhqKs kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3eyhauKZtaegs0 Also another decent video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eICai5SCnMuKirM Also, I prefer using FSPIN's tool to make flare connections. Look at newer Senville units can heat to -22F and will heat much better than this unit. Pioneer is also another decent cheap brand (heats to -13F) but they are basically the same parent company making them. Also yes, the digit thing is a problem on these units.

Thank you for your considered reply. I picked Senville because of DIY, not price. This time DIY is no longer an option so quality comes to the fore. Is there a brand(s) you would recommend to replace this unit?

@@kanadakookie Whoever in your area is a Mitsubishi or Daikin dealer. Prepare to spend $$$ :)

@@sprockkets Thanks! I have a budget of 3G+ CND so either Daikin or Mitsubishi might fit the bill. I like the Daikin floor mount.

I have one but turning the air on is hit and miss. Turn it on and it cuts off immediately. It's not on a timer nor auto

thanks for your info why did you pick this unit? I'm looking to get one mainly for heat i'am in P.A. and winter gets crazy ice storms and lots of snow my electric bill gets way too high. I want a solar model. I saw pioneer, Mr cool and some off-brand, HOT SPOT ENERGY it's a solar model comes with a solar panel. not sure of the model to get but it has to be solar.
@robertl.fallin70625 жыл бұрын
Saw your reference to Hot Spot Energy and maybe my research is usfull to you. I have seen one install of that unit with direct PV input on KZbin. No updates are posted but the install met the gentlemens expectatilns. You do need a hvac guy to do the refrig. line connection and do a vacuum of the lineset and NO, the solar panels do not come with the unit. $1795.00 plus three panels plus installation likly pushes the cost over $3,000.00 I live in central Va, have a few hours a winter with zero or below zero temps. and I would buy a hot spot had I not installed a Mitshubishi begor I knew of Hot Spot.. My unit can heat my home down to about 5 above but I have another heating source so no matter. Lastly, Mitshubishi has began selling 32SEER 13.5 HSPF UNITS that provides 100% of rated output at 0°. I think the cost of three to five thousand is reasonable considering the savings over oil or even gas heat.

I have been please enough to plan on buying a three outlet unit for a new house I bought that does not have forced air. Other than the initial issue with the display the unit has been rock solid and reliable.

Well I just purchased two, 12,0000 BTU and a 24,000 BTU. So far they seem okay but just trying to figure out how to keep them at constant temperature? Should it be via the Follow me or Not? The instruction manual not well writing with documentation. Also, the Auto ac/heat feature seems to not work accurately. Last night it was in auto mode and on 75 and the heat kicked in and continued to run and the temp was up to 82 degrees and the follow me on the remote was registering 82 but the unit at the top of the ceiling stated 75 on the panel and was not shutting down? Any clues or suggestions?
@kanadakookie7 жыл бұрын
Agreed on the Auto ac/heat, I never use it. I used to use follow me but now just set the temperature regular style. And adjust as necessary.

2020 update? How is the unit treating you? I was thinking about purchasing a new model Aura they claim is good to -22 F, but I was concerned about the longevity and durability of the units.

I just bought a 36k senville dual split into 12k and 24k what kind of wire do I run to the indoor systems to panel and what kind of breakers should I buy for the two?
@kanadakookie7 жыл бұрын
I made do with 14 gauge all around for my 12k unit but you'll need more than that. Study the manual, it will give you everything you need to know on wire gauge and breaker size.

Still working without issue. The heat pump does struggle below 20 F but I have auxiliary heat for those days.

When this unit heats does it continue to run the fan on slow when it reaches the desired tempature or does it shut down?

I'm not familiar with the unit you mentioned but mine still runs like a champ. The heat pump works well in the winter, the a/c works in the summer. Mr. Fitzgerald, above, seems to have gotten a lemon.

12000 btu - still haven't gotten the display repaired but it doesn't matter, I'd recommend this unit without reservation.
@robertfitzgerald98707 жыл бұрын
Since my posting two years ago both had the main circuit boards sent out to me from Senville 7 times on the outdoor units both of them. The 12,000 btu needed the indoor circuit boards 5 times and then the display quit and it was replaced and then I had more issues and had paid the HVAC tech over $600.00 in trips so they sent me a brand new indoor/outdoor 12,000 but charged me $300.00 but after I filed complaints with the BBB and threatened to sue since I was out all the money for the tech too they reimbursed my money. They told me I was a trouble customer and nobody had problems but me. The Technician advised in his personal opinion "junk". Purchase LG or Mitsubishi but I didn't have that kind of money so you get what you pay for. These people are also very rude. I have emails sent me that I've kept that you would not believe how I was spoken to. Anyhow, if this helps for the next person!

Hello Robert how is the machine now? I recently purchased a new device and wonder how it's working now? Any complaints?
@sprockkets4 жыл бұрын
If you are going through that many boards you have another issue. But in general, all inverter based systems are problematic. Btw, LG supposedly are just as bad. And Mitsubishi's are made in third world countries, so you are not really paying for more in return. Most issues come from poor installs, and even higher end brands like Fujitsu have issues.
