@@Moz I am really sorry, I dont have Twitter. I have a DOT.IN website and a DOT.COM website. Earlier I had simply used redirection to Redirect the DOT.COM to DOT.IN ( where I have a basic level functional website ), Now after 7 years almost I have a brand new version of website ready and I have connected my DOT.COM to this website that I made through WIX. When you put my company name on google, the older DOT.IN still shows up. Now without losing my SEO / popularity from the old website on DOT.IN how can I have my traffic redirected to the NEW DOT.COM website. Please help , I am not very smart . And dont have too much budget to hire someone at this time.

If I were to make a client a blog about "10 best something something products of 2020" then would it be powerful year after year to make another blog with the 2021, 2022, etc years... and always make the canonical the newest year/version? Then over time I would collect all the share signals etc and they'd be pointing to the newest version always? Is that a good technique? Does everyone do that? Seems like once enough years passed you'd be hard to be outranked.

What if I have a website on sewing factory and but several niche domains in the same industry like T-shirt factory for the purpose of making it a landing page for t-shirt promo. On the t-shirt domain, I link from there to my main sewing factory for the client to see other things I do and see I am not a new company. My first question is will google penalize me, secondly does it help the ranking of my main site.

If you had location pages that are very similar, burgers.com/london, burgers.com/paris etc, and you added to all of those pages a canonical to the main location page, how would that affect things???

When someone searches up your domain or brand name it will show them the main location only as the one ranking on the first page. In other words it will only rank the main location page. If you want to send traffic to the other locations you can do it through your site's navigation, paid traffic (way more effective in this case), or you wanna have the website hosted in the specific location you're targeting using a CDN tool like Akami.

Hello Rand, I have question over the self Canonical. My query is, if I point a self canonical then what will happen with those pages which have duplicate content of my self canonical URL? They will still count as a duplicate page. For example, abc.com/b is duplicate of abc.com/a and I point self canonical at abc.com/a. Now, abc.com/b will still consider duplicate content of abc.com/a. If not, then how crawler understand this process?

Gaurav, every page with duplicate content should have a canonical URL. So abc.com/a should have a self-referential canonical, and abc.com/b should have a canonical URL pointing to abc.com/a

Hey, I used screaming frog to scan a website and it shows that there are two pages www.abcd.com and www.abcd.com/home both pointing at the home page. However, theURL displayed is www.abcd.com . but still the screaming frog shows it.. Now my question is do I have to remove one of the link or I have to use a canonical tag ? Hello, I'm still kind of new to this, so I don't know if this is an obvious question. What if you have 2 pages and then you canonical-ize them but you've set them to rank for 2 different keywords. What happens then? Do they both keep ranking for the 2 different keywords?
