From PROGRAM BOOKLET~~ Jörg Widmann is undoubtedly a composer of our time, but one who repeatedly refers to classical and romantic music and draws his own conclusions from them. The “Sonatina facile”, composed in 2016, is like that title suggests, a homage to Mozart's famous “light” G major piano sonata KV 545, with which it also shares the movement names. The topics from the model are quoted in the quick outer sentences. Also for Figures typical of Mozart's time such as the famous "Alberti basses" - written out arpeggio chords, named after the Italian composer Domenico Alberti (1710-1746) - appear in the accompaniment. But again and again, Widmann's piece moves away from the idea of ​​simplicity.
