Seoul Powerful Rainy Night Walk around Jeongdong Street | Umbrella Sounds 4K HDR

Torrential rain drenched South Korea's central region, including Seoul, for two days straight, but for now at least, the rain seems to have petered out.
While widespread damage to buildings, roads, and cars has been reported across the South Korean capital and its surrounding areas, the absolute top priority is helping people and families affected by the floods.
The record rainfall seen on Monday and Tuesday in the Seoul metropolitan area is believed to be the heaviest in 115 years.
Amid two days of chaos, the torrential rain caused floods and damaged homes, buildings, subway stations, and vehicles.
At least nine people died due to the adverse conditions while seven have been reported missing.
In the capital Seoul,... around 600 people from over 400 households were forced to evacuate their homes and take shelter in schools and other public facilities.

In the news, footage of Seoul's flooding is a small part of Seoul. Seoul has a good drainage system, so water drains quickly. Gangnam area is actually a low-lying valley region geographically. So it rained all the way there. So I temporarily exceeded the drain limit. Nevertheless, it returned to normal the very next day. Thanks for your concern.

Yep. I was impressed that almost everything was running and most still had power. Seoul reminds me of Tagucigalpha Honduras where my wife's family lives. It's in a valley so low areas get the worst of floods. It also has a river running through it.

@@JohnCiaccio There is a huge river in the middle of the city, and the outskirts are a mixture of mountainous basins and plains, and Seoul has a large annual temperature difference and has a very distinct seasonal climate during the year

@@hazelnut3794 Probably why I like it so much. I was there is 2018. Unfortunately I was not as educated about all the things to see. Especially the use of the Han River. Not used to a place where a river is so well developed for the public. Thanks to Nathan and the others I have learned much more. Mostly I will need a much longer visit next time!

So much rain - I am pleased you are safe and you didn’t get your car flooded. Here in the UK we are experiencing the hottest weather for a long time. This past 2 weeks have been particularly hot. This district was my favourite place for an evening walk when I used to live in Seoul. It's crazy how things have changed yet remained the same at the same time. My favourite scene is a personal one--the coffee shop that is next to the Ehwa Girls Highschool, which I used to go every so often as a treat for myself.

I hope I can have more than one favorite! My top 2 started with the left turn at the green arrow at 27:40-29:15. That whole area of the Living Garden was just stunning! 🤩 I went from “oh, that’s pretty to WOW, that’s gorgeous” 😍 Next was after the Sejong Performing Arts Center from 1:30:10 to the end. That closing shot made watching this on my lunch break all worthwhile. Honorable mention goes to Gwanghwamun Square just past the news station at 1:26:09-1:26:30. Thank you, Nathan 💜
