Oh my goodness this is pure genius. Will definitely be adding this to my embroidery repertoire for so very many things!

Can’t wait to try this! I used to have a lot of fishing tackle, but I’m sure it was all given away years ago so Walmart it is. Thank you for sharing! Sally in Northern California 😁😷

I have embroidered for years and it’s not a big deal to separate floss into “arm lengths”, but I’m working on my first punch needle project and your method is absolutely perfect for separating a skein at a time!! I am so lucky to have found this video. I have looked at many, many videos and this method is by far the most expedient! Even though I don’t have a tackle box I was able to locate spinners at good ‘ol Walmart! Thank you so much!

Amy, you are brilliant! I tried this and it works great. It got a little tangled a couple of feet before the end so I just cut the floss at that point. This is such a time saver and especially helpful if you want to split the whole skein without cutting it in pieces. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Amy! I can only punch with 3 strand due to multiple hand surgeries. It wastes so much time to constantly separate floss & thread the needle. I really needed this😊!

I’m so glad I found your video. Too bad it was after I ended up with a knotted mess trying to separate 1 strand.

It is amazing how hard it is to get that floss untangled once you get knots! No doubt next time will go better!

Sorry I'm missing something, why would you want to do this? Genuine question.

Great question! For punch needle, you can punch with a variety of threads. Many of us punchers (me included) like to use 3 strands of embroidery floss. It gives a bit of a fluffier appearance kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZDKhoFna5h4rKMsi=JYeu0_7l43D6YrWt Separating the entire strand all at once into two separate groups of 3 strands allows us to punch more and re-thread less.

Great idea but, it doesn't work if you have a cat! Little bugger thought I was playing a game with her.
@DoodleDogPrimitives2 жыл бұрын
My cat likes to sit and wait until the very end of the string comes by her. Then she attacks!
