Could so relate to this issue as I've been in that exact place with my foster son who is almost the same age as Jess. Non verbal /autism. He now too copes much better unless something triggers his anxiety meantime. I have done the same as you with him telling him he is now an Adult and it's part of being in dependant! !!!! . Thanks Val love listening to how you deal with the various things and have on occasions used some of your techniques! !. You explain everything so well on such a complex disorder x

But it is definitely different because I am physically separated from those I wish to be around, across the United States. My family. I get this. My son doesn't do well away from me he's find until night time, the minute it gets dark he wants to come hone to mom. His dad and I were gonna separate and he told his dad he would see him during the day but wanted me when it was dark. He will only stay with my mom and best friend, his dad and I r still together. So of course him as well but he won't stay over night with anyone at all he will force himself to stay awake until I'm right there. I have to have surgery and we have been trying so hard to work with him staying over night with anyone and it's not working. So the only solution I can come up with is have one of my boys stay here at home with him while my ole man is with me. Cuz hrs bound determined not to stay else where he knows I have to have it since its hurting me but it gets him do upset being without me. Unfortunately becuz of covid they won't let him in to see me while I'm in the hospital for a few days. Which makes zero sense since I'm coming home to 2 people here so a extra person shouldn't be a issue but it is.

ugh! i had separation anxiety going on vacations. not with my family but leaving my pets behind even though we left them with my grandparents who we trusted. i knew they would take care of them but i still missed them
@sharaleeduncan64292 жыл бұрын
This really gives me hope that my grandson will gradually as he gets older be OK with that, whenever his mom leaves and he stays with me or we leave and he’s with his mother the person that leaves he always sure will never come back. We tell him I’ll be back and he’s always gotta what if‘s this happens or what if this happens. It is so hard to explain to him that more than likely we will be back. Sometimes he wants a promise which we can’t do we just have to try to convince him that we are going to come home,I see so many things that I wondered where he was getting them from why is he always thinking the worst will happen, and why the anxiety so bad? He’s only 12 butI am hoping that as he gets olderThat he will adjust better to it. As I always say to you and your videos you help me more than you’ll ever know. We really thought that my grandson was just over thinking to much, wasn’t sure why he blew it out of proportion that we would not be coming back. Now I understand that’s a common thing with autism and the separation anxiety. We have learned more from you than our doctors, we will tell them something and I’ll just say oh yes don’t worry about it, there is not a lot of help around here and Idaho for kids with autism.Thank you again and please let me know how we can support you you have helped me more than you ever know thank you❤️Sharalee

Does a trip to visit Madison that you referred to as a "he" mean that a reunion between Val and Bad Daddy that some of us subscribers have been rooting for is completely out of the question?? (BIG SMILEY FACE) PLEASE don't be offended by this question that is ALMOST just kidding. It's truly just heartwarming to see the two of you have such love for Jessica and your family as a whole, that in spite of being divorced you can come together on a very regular basis to give your family (especially Jessica) the biggest gift of still being able to spend time ALL TOGETHER as a family. Growing up in and coming from a broken home would not be NEARLY as mentally and emotionally traumatic on children or have such long term negative affects on them if other parents could just follow your example. In fact, yours looks to have taken the "Broken" out of "Broken Family". You are truly inspirational on so many different levels.
