I told my kid to take photos of things to keep as memories when we need to declutter. It has helped reduce the amount of stuff in her room and still validates that the items had meaning to her. Taking a photo of it confirms it was special even though it’s no longer needed.

I recently sold to thred up, not sure if this is usually the case but it took them 6 months just to process the bag. I kept getting updates saying they were backed up/busier than ever, but it was a frustrating experience. The payouts aren’t worth it compared to local consignment shops or Poshmark in my opinion.

My daughter loved rocks. I was always finding them in her pockets. I remember getting her a box from container store to keep them in at one time, and she acted like it was the best thing ever! She passed away at age 30 in 2018, and I am happy to say I have a small stash of her school artwork and just a few baby clothes. She was born in 1988! I’m shocked I still have them, but I’m also so glad that I do. Yes @ a treasure drawer!

Warning about sending in to Thredup -- My bags recently have taken 4-6 months for them to process, so plan accordingly! Payout is often VERY low as well unless they are designer brands. I would definitely recommend an in person consignment store over thredup because at least then the turnaround is much quicker.

I saw somebody talking about how they "saved" their kid's artwork over the years. They would display it/save it for a set amount of time and then they would take a photo of it. After they had a number of photos they would make a photo book titles something like "The Gigi Braun Collection- Age 5". I wish I would have done something like that with my kids' artwork when they were smaller.

I used to love Thred-Up for selling my clothing, and although I have always felt like their payout is somewhat of a joke, it was better than having to haul them around to donate, and it gave me a little store credit for my own shopping. But the recent changes they have made have totally turned me off to them. They refused over half of my items in the last clean out, which they had never done before...all brand names, barely used, and many with tags on. They could offer me no explanation. The new fee to list them wiped out what little I made on what they did accept. On the buying side, in the last couple of months, I received some very worn items, all marked "excellent", many reeking of cigarette smoke or perfume. So, they didn't take perfectly clean and new items I sent, but they send me items marked excellent that are pathetically worn and smelly? No thanks! I no longer buy or sell with them anymore. I donate them to our local women's shelter now and feel much better about that.

honestly same. I was excited when I discovered them and liked the clothes I got through them but the last order I got sizes that definitely were not correct. I wear women's size L-XL, I shouldn't have to squeeze into size 16 button downs. When I did my cleanout kits they took almost half a year to process and the payout I got was $8 for almost 3 boxes of clothes. Now they're charging for cleanout kits, $14 or something? What's the point of paying someone to sell my clothes when I could donate them for free? I wish there was another way to get some money back for gently used clothes.

The drawer is a good idea or a box. We actively taught our kid that decluttering is part of life, that when she's tired or outgrown something we can bless someone else with it. Before each birthday she'd choose some items to bless others, so like when she was turning 9 then 9 items. She eventually saw how much easier life is with less things. Totally echo Minimalist Mom for ideas or But First, Coffee.

Let Gigi make her own treasure box and she can keep what she wants as long as it fits inside. I do this with most stuff. Don’t buy more hangers; I use the rule of one it and one out. My ultimate test if something is organized is if I can put it away with one hand. 💕🐾💕💜

I’ve used Thredup recently! It took over 9 months for them to process my bag 😂 I got a few dollars in the end but not really worth it. It’s a good option if you don’t really care about what you’re sending in and are ok with only getting Pennies out of it. It is really easy in the sense that you just pack it up, ship it out and your done.

UNIQLO has been my SPOT since visiting one in NYC year ago. They have expanded their sizing and opened a store in Chicago (there were two but now there's one in the city and one in the burbs). EVERYTHING is great. You CANNOT go wrong. The QUALITY is the key. They also pay attention to seasonal trends, have designer collaborations or collections, work with brands like Disney and are generally big on art being part of their brand. I am so sincere when I say, you can't go wrong with anything you purchase from them.

When my kids were little, I had to go through their toys and stuff when they were at their grandparents or school. They wanted to keep broken stuff and anything they could. Also, I told them about less fourtunate kids that didn’t have money for toys. They loved helping people. One year they came home from school and they knew a brother and sister who was less fortunate,they asked me if they could give them their winter coats from the year before. That was a proud momma moment.

About 2 months ago i lost 35lbs now im a 3/4 and i was a 7 to a 9 in pants I had to go shopping.. I men i had old clothes but you are most differently definitely right when you say when u loose weight you will want to go shopping for new clothes.. I went to Playdoes closet its a second hand store and i went crazy but only spent 28 dollars but i got 8 new pairs of shorts a pair of missme pants and 3 tops it was wonderful i feel soo good i recently just went through my closet as well and it was Such A Good Feeling... ❤❤❤❤ Thanks Jess

I’d have either a drawer or find some kind of medium-sized treasure box. We have a closet under-the-stairs that we sit in during tornado warning. When we first moved in we painted and hung a curtain to divide it into two “rooms.” It’s called the play closet. The kids keep toys in their and any artwork they make and want to keep decorates the walls. We love it.

My favorite brush similar to that is a wet brush that has the boar bristles and the ball tip plastic bristles. It smooths the hair really well and is really gentle. It distributes the natural oils really well.

Jessica, I love you and your videos! I never miss one and take a lot of your recommendations to heart. As a licensed esthetician who works in a spa daily and deals with skin daily, I wish you would work with an esthetician (who is a trained professional). Your barrier might be impaired, but it might not be. Wearing makeup does not impair your barrier! Washing your face shouldn’t either, as long as you’re using the right products for your skin. UV exposure, too much exposure to harsh elements, over using acids and exfoliants, they all impair your barrier. You are more likely to have an impaired barrier if you use harsh acne washes. Please do not scare people. There are many factors that can impair someone’s barrier and it’s personal to each individual. Your skin changes all the time. It’s so hard putting skincare out there bc people will assume that it will work for them. It makes our jobs as professionals so hard. Thank you ❤
