Magic Johnson was a basketball player who retired in 1991 due to testing positive for HIV. He and Michael were good friends, he once convinced Michael to attend a game but when word got out that Michael was there, the game just stopped and Magic had to help him escape.

That's why Michael is the best, he didn't make music videos, he made little movies that actually required a lot of work. Different from everyone.

Glad you asked Seph. Actually nothing got took away from MJ as far as choreography or on any other of his Short Films. He always was incredibly involved with all his Short Films also he would sometimes put the Short Film into the hands of high profiles film directors and have Co-Choreographers when he was a main Choreographer but yea usually he was always the main and in control of everything and have his input on every aspect he was a perfectionist! But on a few occasions he’d hire a Choreographer to usher in their own input and apply some different type of Choreography so for this one it was Fatima Robinson who was the main Choreographer for “Remember The Time” and MJ would be Co-Choreographer for this specific Short Film but he still had heavy input in this don’t get it twisted he was shielded off by any means whatsoever!👑🎯💯

I think Michael was pretty much in charge but of course he would take suggestions and they would come together to see what works best. People who worked with him said he always felt like he could learn a lot from them as much as he could teach them, so they were sharing their knowledge, no one was above anyone and Michael was always interested on learning from them. But the ideas came from his head primarily.

I love remember the time! Fun fact (if you weren't already aware), Michael wrote the lyrics to remember the time on the back of a clock. Magic was a basketball player. He told a funny story at Michael’s memorial service about when Michael had called him requesting him to be in the video. Michael invited him to eat and discuss the film. Apparently Magic had some more ‘fancy’ food, while Michael had a KFC bucket all to himself! Magic was excited to find out Michael also liked KFC lol. Eddie is hilarious 😂 Iman is absolutely gorgeous, Michael definitely knew how to pick the women in his films! 😄 I hope you’re feeling better Seph, make sure you’re putting your health first. Thank you for the reaction. 💛

He said he ordered himself some vegetables cause he wanted to make a good impression he thought Michael was fancy and healthy (and he really tried to, since he was known to be a picky eater and generally didn't like eating), but meanwhile there he was ordering himself some kentucky fried chicken 😂😂 very funny story they shared the bucket afterwords

The official "Making of"'s usually don't highlight Michael, but rather all the other partsof the production that often gets lost because everyone's much more interested in MJ. The Making of Black or White that you saw, were more like outtakes from behind the scenes. The more official one is like this as well, even though it's longer so it contains more of Michael - just like The Making of Thriller. I think you'll like the The Making of Ghosts when you get there, that one really has alot of the MJ in creating mode-set in it...although like none of MJ just hanging around between sets. I mean, we all just wanna see Michael, but I do appreciate that Michael in turn wanted to shed light onto all of the production and everyone else involved. And that's really interesting, too.

Oh wow! What a surprise. I’m so happy to see you feeling a little better. I had just resigned myself to not being able to see you for a few days. Michael wanted to work with this particular director and so he gave him a lot of control on many aspects of this video but Michael chose the celebrities he wanted to work with. Michaels perfectionism is definitely on display here also for sure. Thanks for the upload. But, please take care of yourself. Your health is the priority.

It’s great seeing you back & I hope you’re feeling better!! ❤ MJ had major input in this and most of his short films especially as he got older (you’ll love ghosts) but I think things like this don’t really tend to highlight him & what he’s doing because it’s giving an overview of production rather than following him around, plus he loved collaborating and putting himself in a room with people at the top of their game to learn bits from them and then combining everyone’s talents including his own (whether in the studio, on tour, in dancing or making his video’s) and he always liked improving himself and lifting everyone up which is why he always expected 110% from those around him. He was throughly dedicated to his art.

Glad you're feeling better Seph and are able to upload again. :) Like you I wonder how involved MJ was with the choreography of RTT. But I don't think this little behind the scenes video tells us much about that. If you remember the bad25 doc and how MJ used to work with his choreographers at night for the Bad music video, I think there is a lot of work being done in preparation that we don't get to see. If you want to see more of MJ's personality I'm sure you'll love the Oprah interview. Can't wait for you to check it out.😊

Michael was in control in all of his Short films alot of people have said if he didn’t like something he would let you know in a very kind way but still got his point across effectively and magic Johnson was a famous basketball player from the Lakers

Good to see you're feeling well enough to make a reaction, Seph. Magic Johnson is a basketball legend who played with the L.A. Lakers. "As far as like wow factor goes, I'd say that this one's got like the 'T'." (11:53) What does the "T" mean?

Not really a basketball fan myself but I somehow got sucked into the Larry Bird aka "The Hick From French Lick" rabbit hole here on YT. So while I am still not a fan of basketball after watching some clips on the players of the sport I do have a deeper respect for the NBA players with regards to their athleticism. Larry Bird I think will forever be my favorite simply because he seemed like an honest to goodness good guy on and off the court. Tough but never arrogant. As for what the "T" means I couldn't tell you. I do know what "spilling the tea" means- basically a way of saying you're going to tell all on the situation or a somebody you know or claim to know everything about. Gossip Column stuff in other words. Hope you are doing well, Brad 😊💙🙏💕

@@sammy_the_uncool2702 Thanks, Sammy! Likewise. I'm not much of a basketball fan anymore, but I lived in Chicago during the heyday of The Bulls and Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman in the1990s. I even attended one of the playoff games during that period. It was beyond glorious, I'm telling you. The city was absolutely electric! The Bulls had two three-peats in the 90s! I have a feeling that Seph's "T" reference is something specific to the UK. Perhaps a cricket reference or some other sport. Hopefully Seph will chime in.

@@balovett Oh yeah. The 90's was probably peak time for basketball. You had a lot of great players in that decade. Michael Jordan probably being the greatest of them all during that time. Not really an expert but I know a little bit about all that. Lucky you! Did you get nosebleed seats? I'm kidding, kind of 😉 Must have been one helluva game to witness in person! My Dad was at a PGA playoff and right before Arnold Palmer made his winning shot he looked straight at my Dad, made full on eye contact with him. My Mom was there and still tells that story, haha. But it was a moment for my Dad. A really great moment. I'm glad he had it 😊

@@balovett Ohhh... Fancy, fancy! My sister got to be up in a skybox at a major leagues basketball game. I think she got an invite from a friend who was working for some local corporation at the time. I honestly can't remember. They had a whole catering deal plus champagne. It was in the Pacific Northwest so much of the culinary fare was locally caught and freshly prepared seafood. My sister said it was exceeded her expectations (the food, not the game, home team lost). Very cool Brad! I'm glad you had a great time!
