It's a shame we don't get the hard working engines and distinctive tones of the Class 31 on the mainline anymore, apart from the odd run out by 31128. Great selection of locations and shots as usual Anthony.

Hi Anthony have only just got around to viewing this video but what a good one. I am slightly biased when it comes to the 31's as I reckon although slightly under powered they were the workhorse of small freight moves although I remember them being double headed on the oil moves up at Imminghan in the 90's and 2000's. You probably saw more of these being in the Eastern region whereas I had travel from the Thames Valley to get them. Regards Peter

I didn't know there were any 31`s without headcode boxes, thought they were all modified, where is the first one from?

Presume you mean 31106. This was owned by the now defunct Frangonset operation and is now based at the East Lancs Railway.

31128 has just recently returned to the mainline, this is only one of the class to do so as far as I know.
