SEPTA Broad Street Line Express Rips through North Philadelphia Station

I am amazed that the speed limit is 70 MPH on the express. That is faster than any NYC express speed limit.

Believe it or not, the Broad-Street Line usually moves faster than the Market-Frankford Line.

I’ve heard that express trains bypass this station due to low ridership. In my opinion, that’s not a good idea because express service would provide convenient transfers to and from Amtrak and Regional Rail. More importantly, trains bypassing platforms at high speeds like that cause turbulence, especially in an underground station. So stopping all trains would eliminate such strong turbulence.
