Beautiful day just like it was 20 years ago on Sept 11, 2001. I was in the Washington, DC area that day and got out safely and drove back to Atlanta in my rental car. Riding down GA 400 today just ramblin about several things. Hope you enjoy the ride.

I always look forward to your videos. So sorry about the loss of your cousin. I purchased a 2021 Heritage Classic 114 in July of this year. Like you, I am very conservative with my money. The bike is actually the most expensive vehicle I have ever purchased, that includes cars and trucks. My choice was between the Road King and the Heritage but as I am not getting any younger (I am 65) I went for the lighter bike. I have 4,500 miles on it and know I made the right decision for me. I am thinking of adding the tour pack to it for additional luggage storage on long trips.

We are the same age and I chose the Heritage for a lot of the same reasons you did. I know it’s the right bike for me but I still think about that Road Glide I could have had. Ha. I got a small tail bag for mine that I strapped to the passenger seat. Gives me a little more storage. I’ve thought about the tour pack but I’ll take a couple of trips with the set up now to see if I really need the big tour pack. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

Holcomb Bridge Road is one of the busiest roads in Atlanta. I avoid it when I can. And it was probably slow in 1985 but today it’s really bad. Traffic+ has improved since COVID since so many people work from home now.

Riding Interstates is not for the weak. I have to deal with about 20 miles of 485 in Charlotte on days I ride to work. The speed limit is 70, and much like the ATL area, if you’re doing the speed limit, you’ll get run over. Looks like the concrete on GA 400 has gotten rough over time, too. And then 285 around to “Mayretta” as I’ve heard it called. Fun. I think we all have lost someone due to Covid (or know someone who has). I’m not sure it’ll ever go back to how things were 2 years ago. It’s amazing to watch the current administration at work. And to think they’ve only been at it for 8 months. Hard to believe it’s been 20 years. I remember it like it was last week. I think we all do. Enjoy your Heritage, hope to see it in person soon.

The highways generally around the south are so much better than the pavement in other parts of the country where the weather takes a toll on the asphalt or concrete so we are fortunate there. The thing about Atlanta is they always seem to be working on the highways widening them or putting in toll lanes or whatever. I try to stay off them most of the time especially I-285 loop around Atlanta. That road is truly a racetrack. Hopefully we can get a ride in this fall. I love riding this time of year. Ride safe my friend.

GA 400 is way better now since the pandemic hit. It’s still busy in some areas at certain times, but overall the traffic is way down from what it used to be. It’s a good smooth and wide road so I don’t mind it. I just try to stay off I-285 and the downtown connector. Thanks for watching.

Sucks your cousin passed. My grandma, brother in law, and a few other family members have passed from COVID over the last year or so. Seems you have the genetics to survive or it gets ya. Find my self in a similar dilemma looking to get a bigger Harley and the Heritage ticks the box's as well as the Sport Glide and the Super Chief Limited but like you explained it's a 20k proposition any way you slice it. Has me looking at an older heritage around 10k. Love to see a vlog about the dam too, safe travels 👍

Thanks. This COVID thing looks like it will never go away. I went in this weekend and got a booster shot and flu shot so I’m doing what I can to protect myself. I really considered and liked the Sport Glide but settled on the Heritage. The new Indian Chief models came out about a month after I bought my Heritage so I wasn’t able to check them out. They look like great new Indian models and definitely competitive with the Heritage. I looked at a few used Heritage models with the newer Milwaukee 8 motors but they weren’t that much cheaper than a new one. If you can accept the older 103 twin cam motor, you’ll probably get some good deals on models before 2018. I never made it up to Hoover Dam on my Arizona trip. It’s still on my list though and I’ll go sometime soon. Thanks for watching and commenting. Ride safe.

I'm happy with my 2019 FLHCS, I have added many things to my bike to make it mine. I black out my bike some more,& not finished. I have many more items in storage & home for Beastette.I ordered a new seat that looks like the original with black studs, but supports a backrest that slips in seat. The seat is deep with high rear of seat like saddlemen. It has separate passenger seat with studs. There're another company that has rear fender bibs with machining black studs, & similar items of OE..Keep up the good work, I enjoyed the freeway Vblog. Keep up the good work

I’m thinking I will probably do that trip and see the dam. Life is short and I want to make sure I’ve checked that item off my list. I really like riding in the southwest. Pretty dry and mild for the most part and the scenery is so much different than the east coast. I love riding this time of year so we should plan a Saturday sometime soon and hit the roads around here. There’s a pretty good motorcycle friendly restaurant and bar in Jasper named Rocco’s that might be a good lunch spot. Or one of my other favorites - Bigun’s BBQ in Talking Rock. Thanks for watching.

Hello Doug! $20,000 for a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle!! BLIMEY!! In the whole of my working and retired life of 87 years, I have only managed to save that amount of money, (to cover my final disposal!). In my 70+ years of motorcycles, the most I have ever spent on purchasing any of the motorcycles is £4,000 for my 1992 Honda CBR600FM, in 1993, (which got stolen!). Most of my bikes since 1950 cost me between £100 and £1,000. My present 1996 Honda Rebel cost me £800 second-hand in 2013! I could never imagine hocking myself up to borrowing zillions of Pounds/Dollars on a motor vehicle! In fact, in my wildest dreams, I can't imagine anyone being able to afford to purchase a new Harley-Davidson!! Maybe we Brits are a poor, under-paid lot...LOL...! Take care, all, and RS!

MSRP on a black Ultra Limited is $29,000, and the RDRS system (which is being included on all new bikes) is another $1000. Add for accessories and other paint colors, and you’re quickly north of $30k. I have a pretty stout bike payment, as I bought a new Ultra Limited this Summer.
@GARamblinMan
@GARamblinMan 2 жыл бұрын
Paul - I am sure you’re under paid! $20,000 is mid range for what a Harley cost here in the USA. you can get a Sportster for around $10,000 or so but the big touring bikes are high $20’s or low $30’s (and that’s in thousands!). The most I ever paid before this was about $5K, so this was a big step up for me. Ride safe over the pond there my friend.
