September 30, it all starts for SSI, supplemental security income beneficiaries. We are discussing some announcements out of the Social Security administration earlier this year that directly pertain to SSI, supplemental security income which is also distributed from the Social Security administration to nearly 8,000,000 beneficiaries. These changes will be going into effect as of the end of the month, September 30 as announced by Social Security. Hey Matt and Corey, What I don't understand is, why do people get married when one or botj are on SSI. They know it's going to take money away from both of them. Why not just live togethet. If one of the persons in that couple is working, is the reason the the money is lowered for the other that's on SSI. It makes sence to me.

I totally agree. Couples usually both work. However, my granddaughter lost her SSDI when she got married. She is bi-polar schizophrenic and doesn't do well in public. She has a part-time caregiver. Go figure!

I researched this 63% increase and couldn’t find a thing. Social Security or COLA will increase 2.5% in 2025. It doesn’t matter if it’s 63% or 2.5%, you can bet someone will come along and take most away, whether that’s a landlord, grocery retailer or Medicare.

Those people need sent home they are destroying property eating pets and are hurting the residents there! 😭 As an Disabled Ohioan this is such bs! Especially when I heard some of the immigrants are getting $5,000 in cash and $13,000 in food stamps each MONTH!! Let alone us on Social Security getting cut on our food stamps because we make too much! A whopping not even $1,000! I find this ridiculous! Woo $23 to spend in the grocery store! This is ridiculous!

They need to change where that they can take your EBT or SNAP benfitts just because we got a few extra dollars each year do to the cost of living a justment becaues i get SSI and EBT and each year that are SSI goes up a little they take a way part of are EBT or SNAP benfits witch is wrong with the cost of food they need to be giving us more and not take them away from us

I get SSDI and my stamps went down $150 for October. I'm loving the increase. Lol. Car Insurance went up. Everything is going up. So I'm someone who hasn't worked much cause I'm disabled. So because I don't work, I get screwed. I know I'm not the only one. I'm so thankful to wake up every morning in this greedy world where things have been very hard. Why only sei I worked all my life and my friend that is on SSI comes within $60 of what I make after working from the time I turn 16 until December of 2000 when I became disabled now they're going to give them a raise and not us she'll be making more than I will and that ain't right I'm going to trust God that ain't that is not fair but what is fair in the government anymore
