I am in love with the romance of England! Bruton is a medieval castle dream town and the prices at No. 1 Bruton are reasonable considering the setting (I had to google it). I had the privilege of visiting England a few times while my son worked in Harrogate in Yorkshire. I came home more deeply in love with the countryside and architecture than ever. My ultimate vacation would be to visit you and do one of your workshops and then spend a month roaming the country. Sadly, now I'm 75 on a pension so I can only visit through your YT channel and try to emulate your gardens and floristry my at home in Oklahoma. xoxo

I fell madly in love with Cotinus, when I saw it for the first time in all its flaming glory, last Autumn - it was a stand out in its setting - my local historical mansion garden. The variety i saw, to my great delight, had bigger leaves, but still the same shape as yours, but the colour of our Australian Cotinus was not nearly as dark burgundy, as yours - the one i saw had a magical, orangey, flame pinky, peachy colour, with just a hint of darker cherry red around the edges of the leaves. I pinched a big handful of the leaves that were scattered on the ground, and I still have them here in a wicker basket beside me - they are rather crisp and crunchy now, but have still retained their divine colours. They call it the Smoky Flame Bush here, because in the Summer it gets those weird, fluffy wisps of white on the branches, that look like clouds of smoke. Anyway, the reason I am rhapsodising so poetically about Cotinus, is I had a very intense reaction to it - no, I don't mean allergic sneezing! I mean, I was so amazed by the stunning colours of the leaves, that I actually wept for joy. Mad, I know! I'm sure there must have been moments in the garden that have moved you to blub in the same astonishing way, Georgie!

Another very interesting tour. I thought I had a good knowledge of plants but you still came up with a few I hadn’t heard of! Must look up. The Zinnias are great value I think. They are easy to grow, stand up to all the weather conditions, slug resistant, don’t need stacking, long flowering and great for colour. Love your arrangement too. Stunning!

Latin names yes please 👍🏻🌱as well as local common names for plants we also pronounce them differently so Latin saves any confusion. How’s the book coming along? Thank you for taking us along with you. x
