I read The Bookbinder about a year ago and quite enjoyed it. I hope it works for you!

I also feel very in-between summer and fall. Excited for fall but not mentally there yet and my wardrobe shows it too. Great tbr! Picnic at Hanging Rock and An Unnecessary Woman are also on my endless tbr. The Bookbinder looks so fall appropriate. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on everything you end up reading!

@@freshparchmentalso forgot to mention I too really enjoyed “Once Upon a Mattress” in the early spring during city center’s Encores series and am so happy it’s doing a full run on Broadway. I am also very ready for the new season at the Met opera.

This looks like a great TBR! I enjoyed An Old Fashioned Girl, but I don't remember it as well as the Eight Cousins and Rose in Bloom duology. From what I remember they are fairly similar. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Nice! I loved Eight Cousins when I was younger, so hopefully that's a good sign (I may not get to it, though. Paperwork and proof copies are kicking my butt this month).

Finished the Pallisers recently and have a couple of Trollope stand alones to read - but like you - I guess I had better wait til Victober!😂 Hoping to read 1606 the year of Lear by James Shapiro in September and then maybe watch the Anthony Sher version on dvd.

Hi Heather, An Old Fashioned Girl Sounds good. I DNF' A Discovery of Witches series after book 2. I'm participating in Shorty September for the first time and will be reading my first recommendation from Aisling called The Ice Palace.

What fun! I always forget about Shorty September. Hope The Ice Palace lives up to your expectations!

@@freshparchment They're low. I haven't had good luck with translated books. Hopefully Norwigan will be different then Japamese. Question, Can classics be a gateway to lit fic? That's what's happening to me so one reason I'm thankful to you for guiding me to Aisling.
@freshparchment4 ай бұрын
@@amy8458 They can be, but just like classics, there's going to be some lit fic that speaks to you and some that doesn't. I haven't had much luck with Japanese fiction, either.
