SYNOPSIS: SOUTHWEST MONSOON AFFECTING LUZON AND VISAYAS.
DISCUSSION (BASED ON LATEST WIND, VIS/IR AND WATER VAPOR IMAGERY):
The southwest monsoon remained dominant in the country although it is expected to gradually weaken and retreat due to the expected extension of the High pressure ridge located at North of Pacific ocean extending westward. Based on water vapor imagery, the expected formation of an upper level low (TUTT cell) continues in the Pacific ocean near PAR where it moves westward. It is expected to cause a dry atmospheric condition which will thin the current atmospheric moisture available in the country in the next 24-72 hours. Due to the aforementioned weather systems and atmospheric conditions affecting the country, here is the expected weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
METRO MANILA: Mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshower and/or thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon.
LUZON: Extreme Northern portion will experience rainy weather due to southwest monsoon while Western section of Luzon will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshower and/or thunderstorms due to southwest monsoon. The rest of Luzon will become partly cloudy skies with isolated thunderstorms mostly during afternoon and/or evening.
VISAYAS: Most of Visayas areas will become partly cloudy skies with possible isolated thunderstorms mostly during afternoon and/or evening due to weakening southwest monsoon in the area.
MINDANAO: Will be generally partly cloudy skies with possible isolated thunderstorms mostly during afternoon and/or evening.
