I finally decided to take a peek and check in on the Septic Genie... two years after my ordeal. Well, the motor is still humming and nothing has backed up anywhere and it's not smelly in the house but if you lift the lid you will see floaties. The company said that I should be dropping bacteria in once a year. Oops. But they also said unless I notice a smell, I should be fine just adding another packet to my septic system as soon as possible.
SGTab - Septic Genie Bacteria Tablet recharges your system once a year by maintaining a thriving bacteria colony. "If you are experiencing any odors or other symptoms, it’s possible that the bacteria colony has been compromised. In this case, you may wish to add 2 SGTabs to rebuild the bacteria colony quickly."

Watched your first video when you installed the Genie and this one. I have been aerating a 1000ga drywell (downstream from my 1000ga single compartment septic tank) for close to a year now with great success. This is with a Hiblo HP80 air pump and 6 inch round diffuser stone. I was originally going to aerate my septic tank first (1000ga single compartment) but decided to try the drywell instead. I have seen a remarkable amount of reduced bio mat, no smell and somewhat better percalation. Even though I installed an effluent filter (bristle brush type) on the outlet side of my tank (drasticlly reducing suspended solids) i'm still sending raw effluent to the drywell. In the near future I will be installing the Septic Genie as you did into my septic tank itself (single compartment). Those who say you cant aerate a single compartment tank are wrong. You just have to have a quality effluent filter on the outlet baffle and strictly maintain and clean it. AND...you simply can not just do it with a DIY air diffuser and air pump. That only creates so much aerobic bacteria and while MUCH better than nothing it's a long ways from what the Septic Genie does. The Genie adds a self contained bio chamber with specialized cuspated plastic and surface area for the good bacteria to grow on. Along with their startup pack (2) and a yearly dose of the bacteria packets you CANT install ANYTHING into a septic tank that will perform any better at breaking down all particle sizes of solids and making the effluent as clean as possible. This product has been around for years and has a 90% + success rate with rejuvenating and maintaining healthy leach fields, cesspits and drywells. It's used in multiple countries around the world and approved for use by many states and counties. There is literally NOTHING on the market that is any better or better bang for the buck than the Septic Genie. I'm not a salesman or pitch guy for this company. I'm just a guy who has an old (38 yr) neglected septic system and trying to bring it back to life. I have spent ENORMOUS amounts of time in the last year or so researching everything septic and know before I even get a Genie what it is capable of doing. I congratulate you and your friend on a great install and look forward to updates. I will post my progression in the coming months.

Can't wait to hear how it goes for you! This winter I started to smell my septic system in my upstairs bathroom. The outside of the house does not smell at all and there are no issues with soft ground, etc. Not sure why the piping is sending it up to me indoors. Time to troubleshoot now that the snow has melted.

Check out Sludgehammer. NSF40 Aerobic Bacterial Generator with a much stronger bacteria blend. They can also be retrofit into an existing system (similar to septic genie)

Hows the septic genie working out since the maintenance you did 2 years ago and now this occurance, everything working well again?

4 years now and still chugging along. Have yet to pump again. I'm guessing that the day will come within the next year but I keep adding bacteria so hopefully not!

You can do it! I decided a long time ago that I have to try myself first. It make take me longer but then I feel more pride in my home.

In your last video you showed a leaky riser, and I just wanted to mention that you should be sure and seal those leaky risers with some kind of sealant , ask your plumbing dept. at your local hardware store what type would serve you best, but you don't want groundwater leeching into your septic system., and I am nearly sure you had it leeching in if it didn't stink at all and you had to wait for it to drain to ... just saying that probably isn't helping the situation.

How has the remediation of your final treatment progressed since installing your Aerobic Bacterial Generator? I'm assuming your septic field or mound failed due to a thick restrictive biomat no longer allowing regular effluent doses to be received... causing the initial backup into your home
@SkiPlayLiveTV
@SkiPlayLiveTV 3 жыл бұрын
My field is still virgin. The biomat clogged the exit pipe so nothing ever made it out to the field. Hence the back up. The tank level is still pretty good. It's been three years and approaching the time I should pump the tank but it doesn't look like it needs it yet.

the bacteria packet how do you use that? can you open it up and flush it down the toilet?
@SkiPlayLiveTV
@SkiPlayLiveTV 4 жыл бұрын
It drops into your septic tank directly. You have to open the plastic and take the tab out.

Is your septic tank a single or double tank? Or a single divided in half? Thanks.

Single with a baffle. I replaced the concrete baffle with ABS when I added the double chamber. Genie went in prior to all repairs as my Hail Mary to keep the county off my back. County came out and inspected, found nothing wrong with my system and signed off on the bogus claim, but I went ahead and put in the chamber and baffle for peace of mind. Whole repair cost $7k 🙄

@@SkiPlayLiveTV Welcome to the Septic Mafia. I watched your first video of the guy trying to scam you with a new drain field. I'm in a similar situation and my county is really strict on what they allow, as in almost Zero home owner repairs. Any work is done only by certified [by the county] technicians. I'm not even sure the septic genie is allowed but I plan to find out. Question: Did you install the septic genie on the solids settling side of the tank or do you have an effluent tank the solid tank pours into and the effluent tank is only liquid?

@@SkiPlayLiveTV how did you add the ABS baffle
@rinkevichjm
@rinkevichjm 3 жыл бұрын
If septic genie really worked as claimed, you wouldn’t have to add that.
@SkiPlayLiveTV
@SkiPlayLiveTV 3 жыл бұрын
Not true! The Genie just adds warm air to the tank to help keep the bacteria alive longer but they don't live forever. And it will also get flushed through the system with the liquids. You have to keep adding more bacteria.
@rinkevichjm
@rinkevichjm 3 жыл бұрын
@@SkiPlayLiveTV But they claim its a bacteria generator, thus adding more shouldn't be required, especially since some of them will always remain in the tank. The only reason for it should be you killed them all by poison or starvation.

@@SkiPlayLiveTV not according to their claims, namely that it is a bacteria increaser.

It is supposed to, yes, help generate bacterial growth but the liquids (and subsequently the bacteria) are being flushed out of the tank and into the chamber. To keep bacteria in the chamber, I need to add it.
@heidiwheatley4809
@heidiwheatley4809 Жыл бұрын
@@rinkevichjm things could have happened in the house hold that can kill off the bacteria. Taking antibiotics, chemo, using excessive bleach or antibacterial soaps or cleaners or even an increase in your water usage can also kill off or flush out the good bacteria in the tank. So even with a good environment with the genie or without the genie if you have a septic system you need to add more bacteria to your system to keep it healthier.
