Now maybe home owners might understand why it's a great idea to have riser pipes with a nice decorative , thick , supportive , heavy enough covers on the riser pipes so kids can't open them on your septic tank system !! One time expense but pays for itself in a couple of service pumping's . Plus you still have the original septic tank covers to open after you open the riser pipe cover's which I always install flush with the ground or grass . Sorry , I only have a few decades of inspecting , servicing , repairing and installing all the different types of septic systems .

It's funny when the gal said, "call us before it hits the fan". Guy pumped mine today and at the bottom of the tank found an old fan. An actual fan in my tank. Strange.

That's a lot of work for just one guy. You should send out a cheap helper with the driver to carry the hoses, dig the holes and carry the tools back and forth to the truck as well. Otherwise you will burn guys out if you stack jobs like that up in a day on just one guy. There is plenty of money in that business to afford a helper on each truck. Don't be cheap. Do it right!

My first tank has two lids. The lid closest to the inlet from the house has over 60% solid/scum. The far half of it has only .16% solid/scum. This isn't to be confused with my third lid which is for the liquids. Which of the two readings do I go by?

tank deterioration.. Septic tanks are approximately 6 to 8 inches thick.. So If you have your tank for more than O lets say 70 years you may need to replace it. .. Yes 70 years.. it is cement. It last forever...

Unless some big trees decide to grow into it also some smaller roots may decide to clog the pipes and splitters looking for that fresh nasty water.

Not always. Hydrogen Sulfide gas is a real problem in some tanks.

plumbers septic is the worst contractor to call. they are rude and expensive. The owner brags that your problems "smells like money to him". Do yourself a favor and avoid this business. Very rude, very expensive, lousy service, their people suck shit!
