Septic System Repair - Replace D-box

This video is a brief synopsis of how to replace a distribution box in your residential waste water treatment system.
I noticed the grass was greener than the rest of our lawn in the area of the distribution box. This told me there was a leak in the distribution box, so I investigated. Sure enough, when we dug it up we saw that the distribution box was disintegrating so it had to be replaced. About five years prior, we had replaced the D-box top which had deteriorated and cracked, so the need to replace was not a surprise. The D-box was 24 years old.
Septic system wastewater (effluent) can be detrimental to concrete, particularly poorer quality concrete. This is why it is not uncommon to see concrete baffles failing in septic tanks, which can lead to leachfield failure and emptying of your wallet (See my other video about septic tank concrete baffle inspection and repair).
