The album Roots was very experimental for Sepultura. They literally got back to their "roots" using traditional tribal Brazilian instruments as inspiration. One of my favorites.

Fun Fact: Max Cavalera is known for playing his guitar with only four strings; with the B and high E strings opted out. The inspiration struck when he broke both strings one day and he did not bother to replace them. A friend later commented that the guitar looked better without them, thus it became his trademark

The thing that I like bro are their style (now I'll speak in english man), Andreas is a huge football fan (knows as a ""soccer"" for newbies lol) so it's kinda amazing for me to see a metal guy wearing a football short like a player on the stage lol, the guys from Behemoth, Judas Priest are just full on metal and Andreas are there ... Like a midfield football player with a guitar lol

That "thing" they're playing is called "berimbau" which is a Brazilian instrument mainly used by the practitioners of the Brazilian martial art called capoeira... It is also used in the rites of the Brazilian folk religion called "macumba" which could be compared to the Mexican "Santeria" however different in essence...

Macumba? Are u Crazy? The religion is Candomblé (from Africa) , and other based religion named Umbanda. Macumba is a name of a ritual of these religions.

I love whole this album but i also love soulfly albums ending quitar songs, there are different, I remember hearing some of those years before they record them, they simply played in my head. I could hear them and when I listen to them it gave me flashback of my childhood when those songs did not even existed. Strange yet wonderful at the same time.
