Sequel to Breath of the Wild (BotW 2) Teaser & Gameplay Breakdown

I feel like unlike memory spots from Breath of the Wild, BotW2 may have a similar concept, but with the help of the new arm Link has, perhaps he could communicate with long lost spirits ten thousand years ago, maybe even long before that to the times of antiquety to help him learn the truth of the Calamity, the mysteries of the Zonai, and why Ganondorf was sealed away. It would add soooooo much lore and world building that it would be absolutely thrilling to explore a vastly transformed Hyrule!

Yes adding the Zonai history and link being able to see memories of the hero 10,000 years in the past. Then connecting to the present where link gains new abilities and finds locations to help in any way to defeat Ganondorf or stop him from restoring himself to his former glory.

this is what I believe as well. I believe that the Link we see with the floating islands and primitive style clothes is a zonai link, and that link and the zonai are masters of their spirit power (magic of the triforce of courage). Spirit is tied to willpower and that is tied to courage and could even be considered a forbidden type of magic because misuse can twist and damage the spirit of the person. I think Ganon learned the secret of spirit power from the zonai and became what is known as the malice he also stole the triforce of power, the zonai hero took the triforce of courage and defeating ganon and sealed him in that large tower structure we see in the background of the floating islands. Ganon however would now combine his malice, cursed eternal resurrecting spirit, and triforce to become the calamity which the hero could not stop, the zonai then used their remaining magic to phase the islands and crash them into hyrule hoping to bury ganon and his malice so it would not spread and the zonai themselves vanishing due to the use of magic. Zelda would then promise to pass on the triforce of wisdom down to her family line to ensure that the power of wisdom would be around to stop ganon's malic when it breaks through the ground which is the calamity war we see on the mural. she would use the zonai symbol as the standard for the sheikah and through the use of science and wisdom's power they would emulate some of the zonai magic in the form of the sheikah tech we see. This would also explain why the sheikah ruins and temples are buried and underneath hyrule as they were made/reversed engineered from zonai ruins below. I think as Link travels into zonai ruins below the ground he will also need to enter the Zonai Hero's lifestream and do corrosponding quests much like OoT to ensure that the right tools, items, and other things are properly left in their structures for link to find and vice versa that by learning the power of the zonai spirit magic also access the underground ruins.

A 100% credible leaker did say that developers of the sequel to botw are given as much time as they need and that they don’t have to release the game until there satisfied with the results that they’ve achieved.

It's just a rock if you guys watched the whole trailer you'd realize Link actually is standing next her when she falls and then later in the trailer we see his hand literally holding hers meaning he jumped after her and then the spirt grabs him to pull them back up which is what leads to Link trying to stop Ganon and then him and the sword begin attacked with malice and then the spirt saves him again probably taking the damaged sword to stop it from being effected anymore and it attaches itself to Link's hand as well to heal it and then Zelda is attacked by the malice and the reason the spirt was pushing Link away in trailer one was cause it was trying to save him but Link was trying to fight it and most likely run towards Zelda to try and save her from the malice attack but he couldn't and so we probably make back uptop and find her in a sleeping curse (paralleling the nes classic Zelda II just as botw paralleled Zelda 1 with Zelda being trapped and guess what in Zelda II she was put into a sleeping curse by Ganon so... ya know it just makes sense) so we're fixing the sword he didn't lose it.

It seems like Link is utilizing the reverse effects of time through the power of his new arm. For example, he seems to follow the path of the water droplet back into that sky structure by following the water droplets past movement from falling and landing in that puddle. Also the spiked ball moves in the exact reverse motion when link uses his ability. Just a thought tho

Like it seems interesting to me that Link's appearance is remarkably different in the 2 areas. Like Link is dawning his regular gear on the ground but looks very different in the sky and almost looks like a huge homage to Skyward Sword also would make sense if the story goes back 10,000 years to the beginning of the botw storyline.

This is my thoughts & theory. Zelda games since BotW has us collecting memories in some of it's gameplay using helpful and primary relics. In BotW, we unlock memories of Zelda from the point of view (Pov) of the Sheikah Slate. In Age of Calamity DLC Wave 2, we unlock fragmented and scattered memories in the Pov of Terrako. And now, BotW 2, we unlock memories of the Distant Hero using the new primary relic, the Hand of the Distant Hero.

If you slow down the trailer and analyze the scene with Link’s arm being covered in malice, for a split frame, right before it goes to the next clip, it shows Link with the Master Sword in his hand. You can see the sword’s handle. Like with a lot of people are thinking, you either lose the Master Sword, or you still have it, but you can’t use it. Whether it’s the malice potentially contaminating Link’s arm, or just the green hand not being compatible with the sword.

I honestly think that time is the key. If you use the time reversal scene they showed us as a reference, I think we will be shifting between the timeline of old and the current timeline seamlessly using the power of the arm. I mean it’s obvious that we’re playing as the champion from the tapestry AND Link as we know him in BOTW with the arm being the intermediary. I just don’t see Fujibayashi & Aonuma putting those hints in the trailer without cause.

I can also go more on how link cannot use the master sword 1. His right arm is cursed by malice and that arm was also used for the triforce of courage arm but since it was his right arm which what link used to wield the master sword cause he is right handed

The outfit reminds me of both Scotland and Sparta..some things remind me of Mary and the witches flower...they are getting inspiration from studio ghibli i would change that idea for future games and go back to the oot style that was unique to Zelda.looks awsome but cant figure out what direction they are going. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks of Twilight Princess when it comes to Breath of the Wild 2. When I watched the first sneak peek of BOTW 2 I realized that Ganondorf had a glowing eye on his forehead which reminded me of Link's third eye in Twilight Princess. That then made me think about how there was shards of the Mirror of Twilight in Breath of the Wild. Also the floating land made me think of Skyward Sword, but also Twilight Princess with the city in the sky. Maybe Link's arm isn't what we think, maybe it's the technology from Ooccoo decendants or maybe even Ooccoo themselves. Who knows, maybe BOTW 2 could have something to do with Twilight Princess and maybe even Skyward Sword. 🤔🤷 More to add to theories: In the trailer Ganondorf's corpse is placed on some sort of stone with the Gerudo symbol placed on it. Now if the whole deal where one Gerudo male is born every century then wouldn't that mean that there's another male Gerudo? Who knows how past rules will apply but I think it would be cool to see another ally of Link, or possibly another accomplice to Ganondorf's plans. The similarity to Link's Ordon outfit makes me believe more that Twilight Princess will have something to do with BOTW 2. I mean what if Midna makes a comeback, that would be pretty cool. However these are only hopes of mine, and though I don't want these hopes to be crushed Nintendo never fails to entertain even if it's not what you expected or hoped.

I think that link will need to absorb water to use the phase ability, I think this because right before we see link phase upwards, we saw a water droplet go upward due to what seems to be some green power. The power around links hand? Maybe. So I think that to use the phase power link will have to find and absorb water to phase. Also we link have a puddle animation as he phases upwards in the floor. Becoming like water.

My theory about Links new hand is that it was healing his arm after it was attacked by the malice at the start of the new trailer since the malice probably infected him. I also thought that the stasis power that sent the spike ball back up the hill was from the hand but it is more viable that it’s the triforce of courage because of you think about it, the light that emits from the hand is yellow and the same shade as Zelda’s yellow when she sealed Ganon away and if Nintendo wanted to keep consistent, they would’ve made it the lime green colour, not yellow. It does seem like the new hand gives you new powers anyway

all the power of his new hand seem to be link to time reversal. even going through the wall seems to be using the water the originaly infiltrated through the wall and follow it while reversing time

The very first shot when link gets hit by the malice you can see that he his holding the master sword (down right corner you can see a bit of purple handle). And he never has it again in anyother shot? I Think he droped it with zelda when he got strucked by the malice, and she Will probably get saved from *"fi"* from falling to her death

I think the green energy is both connected to the Hero of 10,000 years past, but is also Zonai magic, much like the Sheikah's blue energy that runs their technology, and Ganon's malice

I am assuming this story takes place in two timelines. Like there's current Link going about Hyrule trying to find a way to defeat the enemy, but at the same time comes upon bits and pieces of story of Link from a previous timeline and stitches them together, which we players will get to play, so as to find out how to defeat the enemy in the current timeline.

It doesn’t look like STASIS to me. It looks more like TIME REVERSAL. Or at least a stasis upgrade where you can reverse time as well. Only because the enemies walk right through the “grey” spike ball. What do you think?
