Sequencing the NTS-1 with the Model:Cycles

The Model:Cycles actually has a menu option to change the polarity of the MIDI jacks, I totally forgot to mention it in the video though. Pinning this comment so others can see.

I am wondering if it is possible to control the various effects and other settings from the Model:Cycles. The NTS-1 is all midi controlled (apart from arpeggio control?) by control codes. The Model:Cycles has a lot of knobs... Are they assignable?

I spent some time exploring a few free oscillators using my Keystep and was pleasantly surprised to find the NTS1 was velocity sensitive...nice! SO much fun in that little rascal! My TD-3 sounds amazing through it. I do wish it had cleaner outputs though...it can be noisy when up front in a mix.

So you want to control the Volca Bass with the Cycles? That would work just fine :) They'd just both have to be plugged into a mixer as well so you could get the audio from both :)

Nts-1 & MPC One next please! I’ve been able to automate the NTS-1 effects and parameters while a sequence is going, I have yet to autosample my patches for mpc keygroups, but that’s my next project I think

That's sick, I love seeing the different combinations of devices synced together. That's part of the fun of getting a new piece of gear, is seeing how it plays with everything else you got! The Model:Samples pairs up really well with the Liven XFM, and I'm sure whenever you get your hands on one, it'll go well with the Cycles as well. Curious though, have you gotten a Pocket Operator to sync with anything but a Volca? I've been thinking of ways to get an Elektron box tempo synced with the PO-20, but can't come up with anything more elegant than using a Keystep as a master clock, or a Volca between the Samples and PO-20.

If you haven't installed any custom oscillators or reverbs/delays/modulation on the NTS-1, i highly recommend it! Very easy with the korg app gives you.

I have a model cycles myself. I’m new to the hardware world, if I were to pair another synth with the model cycles as you have done could I send the synth to more than one track on the model cycles?

No , the cycles doesn't store anything. You would need to sample the nts with a device like a digitakt

(internal + external encoders, to enable sending Midi CC messages for knobs) For each Track used for Midi: [FUNC] + [TRACK] -> Mout must be set
