It's an amazing thing that Dave Smith and his team created the first synthesizer with fully programmable memories...and only two years later, they came out ahead of everyone else again by releasing the first properly bitimbral synthesizer with stereo outputs and separate, fully programmable keyboard modes. Both with the name Prophet on them, no less.

Un . Be . Lievable . 🤯 the only synth that can match this gorgeous multilayered texture is Prophet X.

Jesus Fuck...... what a sound! Sequential Circuits went all the way with this beast.
@RosenSound6 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed they did. There's actually some very unique features to this not in the prophet 5 (some without good reason i suppose). Expression pedal can control the mod wheel, theres initial modulation, phase symmetrical modulation between layers, program volume, and 10 voices ;)

@@gunjabeans too heavy. And for sounds IMHO the absolutely beast of analog sinthesizers is the roland jupiter 8, followed by matrix 12, prophet 5 and cs80. Of course IMHO.

Why is it sounding better than the rev3 to my ears?
@evanglicanism Жыл бұрын
Maybe it's the extra voices? By all counts it should sound the same as a rev3, it basically is one.

SSM or Curtis filters?
@georgesteers44285 жыл бұрын
Blue Eyed Soul Man Curtis, every SCI Prophet has Curtis except for the Prophet 5’s Rev 1 and Rev 2, which are incredibly rare. The Prophet 10 is essential two Prophet 5 Rev 3’s stacked together.
@victorbarnes68985 жыл бұрын
Curtis. I believe the single keyboard P-10 v1 had a different and better filter which could have been the SSM but they had stability and overheating problems and are really rare. The bigger case, Curtis filter, and fan solved the overheating and stability problems.

Is there any need for 2 keyboards when they are both only playing the same preset anyway's.
@RosenSound5 жыл бұрын
No, not in that context. In many others, it’s useful.
@infindebula4 жыл бұрын
When you layer two different sounds, both keyboards play the same thing. This is the case in the first example in the video. But all the other examples seem to have a different sound on each keyboard.
