The Wonderful Christmastime sound is really easy on the P5. It's either a preset, or a slightly modified preset. You use the mod wheel with one of those 'woody' sounding presets and (I think) the LFO on square. That sound is so much a part of the synth's character that you almost can't avoid making it.

At 8:00, you get so much power out of each single note, just with 2 oscillators. That's the wonder of a real vintage synthesizer.

Having just watched this, just realised that most of the sounds on Japan's "Ghosts" were pre-sets from the 5 - and there was me thinking they were all creative noise makers..

Good old analog i have got 2 moogs 1 is the model D can you tell me if there i a sequencer ore a arpeggiator on the profit , i remember when more than 1 note at once on a synth was unheard of ,all so there going for about 3 grand is that a bit high, so thank,s for the demo you did a good job cheer,s,,

I was wondering if this was the synth that Peter Gabriel used on his Games without Frontiers tune, among others stated in wikipedia, like the Moog 15, and the Fairlight..Forgive my ignorance, im not a synth guy, just in the process of writing material for an album and i've always enjoyed that synth sound used in that song..

+blica1 Peter Gabriel used the Prophet-5 a lot. He almost always had one or two on stage too. Games Without Frontiers I am not sure but he would have had one by then because if you look carefully Larry Fast his keyboards guy actually had a Revision 1 Prophet-5 on stage in 1978.

cool video. I've always loved the sound of the P5. I have one question though, it looks like in the oscillator section and the LFO section you have more that one wave selected. do the oscillators and LFO the ability to have more than one wave activated?
