Sometimes I forget how amazing the OB-6 is, and how much it can do. Here's a video of a few factory presets, but I've barely scratched the surface :)
If you plan on buying one, check out the prices on Perfect Circuit (Affiliate links won't cost you more, but will help me):

@@VTOLKits yea, there are 500 user presets, which I’ve already filled with custom ones, either mine or purchased, plus 500 factory presets. The Matrix 1000 is an amazing synth

The OB-6 is a killer synth... and with the "vintage mode", it's always a must have.

Very spatial, and I love way the effects create a backdrop, very immersive. Nice demo.

You think this synth would benefit by adding a OB6 module to polychain too??

Noob here, whats the difference between this and the Rev 2?
@OlTolN
@OlTolN 10 ай бұрын
I don't own an Ob6 just a Prophet 6, and had a Rev2 before. The difference is in the overall sound, due the filters of the synths. That being said, those differences can be quite subtile and there are many sounds that all flagship Polys can do. The Ob6, I would say sounds more 80s, the P6 70s and the Rev2 more like a modern Synth, if that helps :)

@Tholgrimar Hey thanks my friend, yeah after watching some videos I think they all have there own attributes. OB6 sounds warmer richer and creamy than the others, Prophet 6 sounds brighter and a bit more versatile. The Rev 2 seems to be in-between the 2 tonally, but is still capable of sizzling bright tones, not so good lower end though. However it has more modulation possibilities than the other 2, much more, plus it's better for layering sounds and splits. I think it's better for evolving pads and it's tonal character would be easier to fit into a mix that the other 2. I do like the other 2 but I'd probably go for the Rev 2, just more functionality for me.

The REV2 sounds closer to the OB-6 as other sequential synths, but most Sequential synths can sound the same if you keep the sounds very basic. The REV2 is hard to tame, can sound very gritty, but also creamy. I really had to get used to the REV2, you might say I was a bit underwhelmed by the presets, but It can sound a lot thicker then the OB-6. The REV2 cuts through all Sequential synths when you want that extra layer of sound. REV2 is my second favourite synth with it's versatility, mostly lead sounds, the 8 voice UNISON and the OB-6 third, because it is easy to mix for extra sounds like bass layers, pad layers, effects sounds and other filler sounds. The OB-6 is a synth that is very different from all the other Sequential synths, it is in it's own league, but not always what I want. The Prophet 6 is my favourite for everything, but shares it's number ONE spot with the Take 5 because they are very close in sound and it is like a second prophet 6 in my setup. Honourable mention, because I use it a lot as well is the Pro3. I love it's versatile sound and use it a lot for leads ass well when I don't want to bother with the REV2, sometimes the REV2 is hard to tame.

@brianlespoir6287 Take 5 shares in your number 1 slot??? Oh that's interesting. I'm not familiar with the take 5, I think I watched a quick video on it when it released. What it is about the Take 5 you like? I've heard it got some not so good reviews.
@brianlespoir6287
@brianlespoir6287 9 ай бұрын
@@maydaygoingdown5602 The two negatives about the take 5 are the build quality, the looks that come with it and the week lower mids, but you can still create some awesome bass patches with it. The build quality isn't bad, but is not as good as their P'6 and OB-6. The best part is the filter, it is as smooth and lush as the OB-6 filter and you can't make terrible sounds with it.
