As a retired tech that has rebuilt too many VW trans from MK1’s and up to MK’7 I would love to see the inside of that trans.

honestly kinda weird. i know the limits of say my stock mk4 02j trans and ive been well above that for 20m miles with no issues other than not wanting to go into second gear sometimes. But i also dont launch my car. and i know say a mk7 dsg is good for around 400 and can take more with a clutch pack upgrade

If you can't feel the transmission shift hard then the clutches are slipping and causing heat and there is to much plastic in the new transmission's that fail prematurely on purpose a transmission that shifts hard will last longer than a factory slipper

Boosted boiz run the quife setup but in a stock case. I know they just got a billet h22 trans, but I know they keep messing up the k trans but there pushing over 1100 hp. Would love to see them get this in there mr2...

Looking to purchase a k awd sequential but need to know if it comes with the transfer gear and which one.
@realstreetperformance2 ай бұрын
Hey good morning! Thanks for watching, and being interested in a unit that woks best for you. We have several options that vary in goals, like the two linked below. One would be a standard K AWD Sequential by itself with no transfer case, and then we have a max effort unit that not only comes with the transfer case and upgraded gears, but also billet pieces needed in a high HP drag application. I'd love to talk to you one on one and make sure we get the best setup for you, please feel free to call or email me anytime: Callan Christian 407-561-3508 Callan@realstreetperformance.com Standard unit: www.realstreetperformance.com/quaife-sequential-transmission-k-series-k20-k24-awd-drag-ratio-4-1fd-assembled.html?sales_rep=CallanChristian Max Effort Kit: www.realstreetperformance.com/quaife-max-effort-drag-sequential-transmission-k-series-k20-k24-awd-ratio-4-1fd-billet-transfer-case.html?sales_rep=CallanChristian

So, to clarify - Let's say that we are in 3rd gear accelerating, preparing to shift up to 4th but instead we shift to 2nd than if we have sequential gearbox equipped only with 100% mechanical gear shift mechanism (lever mechanically linked to ratchet mech. which turns selector drum) than we are unable to prevent shifting down? Gear change will occur? I know - dumb question but I want to be 100% sure :). Thanks for reply.
@zenonzkition6358 Жыл бұрын
And also are we able to fit cut off (using strain sensor) and throttle blipper to such mechanically controlled sequential gearbox? :)

Thank you ! I have a Honda stream AWD w/ sequential shifter and k20a . What’s available for turbo tuning ?? I’d have to keep my ecu according to your video. Is my ecu a/t or m/t. Can it be tuned as m/t ecu with Kpro or other?

@laurean59982 жыл бұрын
I don't understand why everyone uses sequentials. VW builds the dq500, which german drag cars are using at well over 1000hp with no problem, has k20 adaptors availible, is cheap and is availible in awd. The closing of clutches instead of dog engagement is softer not only on the gears but the whole drivetrain, set up right there is no shift time at all as you can simaltaniously open and close the clutches without cutting engine power at all. This also prevents the suspension and tire from unloading. And you still have a streetable quiet transmission at the end of the day. Same thing applies to longitudinal engines with bmw dcts as well.
@FredAllenBurge2 жыл бұрын
DCTs typically don't launch all that well, I think he mentioned that in the video maybe
@laurean59982 жыл бұрын
@@FredAllenBurge On a track, ok fair enough. On the street I don't really see it, below 3 seconds 0-60 on a 205mm tire sounds like a pretty good launch to me. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHS1g3tmebR5jpo I should clarify I was mostly thinking about cars like the orange boostedboiz nsx, if you have a 1000hp streetcar for roll racing the dct seems like a way better option. Keeping both hands on the wheel is much safer as well, especially with poor traction, corners or bumpy roads.
@el_kuks2 жыл бұрын
For circuit racing application DCT isn't the best option because of it's weight. 80kg of DCT vs 30-35 kg of manual/sequential transmission
