Amazing! I tried a Trigon at the music shop, and it sounded so alive with an old school analog sound. Yes, the knobs were very stiff! The sounds in your video are awesome! I hope to get one - probably the module one day 👍🏼🎹😜

Thank you so much for your kind words! Indeed they are stiff before they get runned in! According to sequentials there is a thicker grease used for those potentiometers and same goes with the pro 3 potentiometers and on my it has been runned in a bit and feels more natural. I can say that the desktop version looks gorgious and in some cases I wish I had that one instead to keep it easier on my desk :) What I like about the Trigon 6 is that it gives a bit more posibility with the 3rd oscillator and the filters have a super nice character! However Have you looked at Groove Synthesis - 3rd Wave? It's definently not a transistor-ladder analogue oscillator synth but it's a very cool wavetable from Bob Coover and some others that works on Sequential. Have a nice day!

Thank you! I've been using my synths now for music creation and I can only say that Trigon 6 is the best analogue poly I've ever used for moogish sounds. Wish I also had a minimoog tho :) but this is the best for the money in my opinion for a fast workflow.

@@infestedalien Speaking of Moog, my fondest wish is for the upcoming Moog Muse to have the same voice architecture as the Memorymoog with newly manufactured Curtis chip filters but with modern supporting features to compete with the new vintage-cloned Oberheim OB-X8 and Sequential Prophet-10.

I'm also curious over the new moog. But I don't see any synthesizer compete with each other since crafting an instrument makes them all unique in their sound. It''s impossible to pick one favourite since all has their strengths and disadvatages.

I personaly love how the resonance behaves in the 2 pole mode. Just a friendly advice since you also watched gaia 2 video. Take a look at the grove synthesis -3rd wave synthesizer. Have a nice day!

Wow the Poly Evolver is so beautiful! I do not own one but I do love it. I just sat down and focused on making pads with the Trigon-6 now. What I do notice is that thanks to the 3rd oscillator and being able to switch it to LFO-mode with keyboard-tracking the poly mod can go quite wild in fun and satisfying ways. And the filter is very interesting with Feedback/drive ability and 2/4 pole mode. The resonance on the Trigon 6 for the filter is something I never heard before. It's like it becomes like EDP-wasp for a bit but not exactly. Sometimes the sounds reminds me of Korg MS2000 but in a better way :) And sometimes it steps into memory moog and mini-moog territory. So much fun!

Nice to hear that you found the pro 3. I think it's a misunderstood mono today since too many pushing the levels way to hard which makes it a bit harsh. As long as you are fine with mono / paraphonic then you can't go wrong with it. I like the supersaw-wave from the wavetable osc. However I recently made a video of the Trigon-6 sounding a bit more modern. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKW7XpZpqKimq5Isi=X6qiCkJErhv-Sjfo&t=103 However the paraphonic is a bit fun on Pro 3 and can make some exciting results when playing it in sequence :)

Loving the sounds you created! Absolutely epic. Which of the 3 do you recommend most and why? Trigon-6, prophet-6 or OB-6?
@infestedalien
@infestedalien 3 ай бұрын
Thank you! This is my humble opinion about them three. The Trigon 6 is my favourite because it fits my current music which is electronic, trance and psytrance ambient etc. And also since it has way greater flexibility with 3rd oscillator that can be used as extra modulation source and still have 2 osc left for audio. Also the filter can be set in 24 db and 12 db slope. The prophet 6 is the most versatile and the most cleanest / purest in sound but it comes with a price which would be that its not as fun as the Trigon 6 or OB-6 but hell yeah what beautiful sound the Prophet 6 can do! The OB-6 is very well suited for "special" sounds but it's strictly limited in what you can acheive compared to the prophet 6 and trigon 6. I would say it's well suited for sci-fi vibes and the state variable filter really grabs the harmonics in a pleasent way. I'm very excited for testing the Oberheim TEO-5 in future as an owner of the OB-6 i'm curious how that machine will be different from the one I already have tried out. Here is a filter "dirtyness" ranking from 1 being most able to do dist and "warmth" sounds. 1. Trigon 6 2. OB-6 3. Prophet 6 However, you can't go wrong with any of them since they are soo nice! The only thing to keep in mind is that due to their nature of signal path, the lack of a mod-matrix can make them feel a bit locked but the polymod is very nice and you can make many cool sounds with them! However, their sound are super pure on the other hand! :) Let me know if you have any other questions!

You're welcome. Prophet 5 is different compared to prophet 6 in the way it has a different filter while prophet 6 is a new filter inspired from prophet 5. It's a mono synth without internal FX but according to me it sounds amazing. Even if there is proven that you can make a P5 and P6 sound almost identical in some areas the outcome can also be very different in some perspective thanks to it's prophet 5 filter and also it can be switched between rev 2/3 4 mode. Also an important point is that Polymod on the P5 offers more assignable level which can make a big difference. I have not tried one personally but it's tempting to get one.

Matriarch is a good machine and the analogue delay sounds very good. Not sure what could be a good pick in that case... Prophet 6 is definently worth testing out. But honestly it's very hard to say what can be something that falls in taste. It's all subjective.

I really wish you could sync the same oscillators as the ones you can fm.. that is really the only reason i don't trade my p6. I love that on the p6. And i would miss the hpf. I love the vibe of this synth. I only need one sequential poly though, i don't have the attention span for a bunch of them.
@infestedalien
@infestedalien 8 ай бұрын
Prophet 6 is versatile with its hp-filter. But i don't understand what you comment about osc sync, please tell me. Trigon 6 do sync oscillator 2 against 1 which is oposite to prophet 6. But you can do same polymod and even more when it comes to fm. The trigon 6 opens up for more modulation with poly mod on 3rd oscillator. Please tell me if i got you wrong. :) however i belive the reason osc sync is swapped is because of adding fine tune as a part of timbre control from osc 2.

@@infestedalien to get certain fm sounds that are less atonal, which are great and have their place, but to get more melodic fm sounds you really need to be able to sync the primary oscillator that is doing the fm. For some reason on the trigon they did it weird so two different oscillators control the sync and fm so you really can't do a lot of sounds the p6 does. Maybe they did this on purpose to make the p6 more "west coast" or something idk.. but it has what it is.. still a great palette of sounds to explore but I really love the weird fm sounds from the p6.

@@wurlinnawurl This conversation made me realize that P6 and T6 are different sounding already when you press Sync osc between em booth before using the polymod. It seems like the ladder filter is already cutting some frequencies at its full opening. Can be audited by pressing the 2 pole switch on / off couple of time for comparison. Other than that It's also noticable that polymod is definently not the same response between the two machines. Been testing them both out now. I think it's safe to say that P6 is the most versatile of them all between all 3 machines avaliable. But the T6 and OB6 are so much fun in their own ways while the P6 is perhaps best suited for the one that needs a synthesizer to cover a broad range. With all this details noticed I am very impressed of how pure the P6 is for it's simplified design :)
@wurlinnawurl
@wurlinnawurl 8 ай бұрын
@@infestedalien I think p6 is really underrated because it takes time to really realize what makes it so special. All three are just so extra ordinarily good that I think it makes it hard to really appreciate them and compare. It would be awesome too have all three but having just one is more then enough because they are so deep in a weird way. Compared to other brands sequential is really a masterclass in synthesis. Lol. I know a day will come that I have the mental space to done into the trigon, and will probably spend five years with it like I have the p6, but it is just as crazy the amount of massive sounds you can get from it. It is really all about the three oscillators and that filter, would you say the trigon filter is the most versatile sequential filter? It sounds like that too me.
@infestedalien
@infestedalien 8 ай бұрын
@@wurlinnawurl Sequential succeeds in creating analogue machines that are easy to operate thanks to calibration-system and patch memory unlike others. Trigon filter is like one of all the three which means one flavor of 3 possible. To be a lowpass-filter it's versatile thanks to the 2 pole mode. But I'm almost certain that P6 is a more all-arounder while the Trigon 6 tends to bring a transistor-flavor to most of the sounds :). I sort of think the transistor-ladder is well known in a broader usage tho. Today I'm quite curious over the wavetable synthesizer from groove synthesis - 3rd wave.
