I lived in Sequim in the late 1970s and 1980s. Homelessness back then in Sequim or PA wad unheard of back then.

Port Angeles and Sequim were beautiful communities and still could be if cities would quit wasting money on enablement and start spending money on fixing the problem. Homeless shelters are a bandaid for the issue. I've met enough of them (homeless individuals) to know if they genuinely want help they will seek it out. Services offered such as job training, money management, interview and resume assistance are a much more affective use of money. Build shelters and they will come...

Rachel Marsh damn liberals are ruining the country. They love to enable instead they encourage victim mentality which a lot of homeless people have.
@pamelawashington67375 жыл бұрын
Aren't you being controversial? Saying that the city is enabling the homeless but then you say they should seek help. If there are no programs or services offered to someone without a home, where would they go for help? So happy you've taken the time to get to know so many homeless people. You would think that you should have learned that just like people who have a roof over their head, they aren't ALL ALIKE! Quit being judgmental and ignorant.

I lived in Sequim from.the late q970s to the late 80s. Almost no homeless then. I now live outside of Anchorage AK which has many homeless. Lots of homeless have mentor problems and I don't think job training and stuff would help them.

Maybe the City of Sequim and Clallam County, that both built City Hall and the PUD building recently, should have saved some money for a homeless shelter. Both buildings (especially the PUD building) could have been built less extravagantly that the tax payers shelled out and our utility bill was raised 5%.

How'd that work for ya? If you had even part of a brain, you'd know housed people are a larger population of addicts than the unhoused. Genius. Sequim has a large retirement population. Those elderly individuals are addicted to pain medications and heroin. Yes, they need MAT services. Save my Sequim from people with intelligence to be leaders not sheepy followers like SOS supporters. HaHa

Where does the bus money come from? $3 for a day pass. Or $1.50 to PA, $1.50 to the west side, again in return if no bus pass. Lady that runs the warming center in Sequim publicly shames people who use facility as druggies. It receives tons of donations and is rarely open. She posts ugly comments about the local homeless on private fb accounts. Nobody wants to go where they are not welcome. Needs to be a NEW director there. Serenity house is a last resort. They didn't show the many drunks who are loud, rude and pee in their sleep while u bunk under them. Yuck! Actually seek shelter outside. Seek food, prepare food. Show what happens when a homeless person seeks help from local resources. Videotape local LE and vigilante groups telling them to leave town, having things thrown at them. Have Cathy the Safeway night manager threaten to trespass you for sitting in the public area that allows one hour seating after you are there 15 minutes eating food you purchase there. Show the Safeway cart guy yell and knock on the bathroom door right after you go in. Then repeatedly til u come out. Show these evil SOS grannies following you threatening bodily harm with their stun guns and sprays after they instigate shit. All the while claiming they are Christian. Ha! Like the churches who collect for the homeless but turn them away from services. You cannot sit where that guy was sitting at Carrie Blake park in the band shelter. Come on. No reality whatsoever in this. None. Not every one is the same, not even the homeless. Quit categorizing them all as lazy junkies. War is about to unfold in Sequim. Soon, very soon. And it's not because of the tribe or the MAT. It's the rich entitled retired invasive Californians who ruined Sequim . Not the down and out that are displaced because of them! Bus them back to Cali.

People need to support their churches, before they can do anything for the homeless. They have food and clothing for them...Nobody wants to do their God given duty to give their 10% to the church...... Open up your home and see what becomes of your home.......Their needs to be a gov. housing program that will help with the mentally and disabled homeless......Just saying....

Do you actually think that the phony “Christians” in Sequim would help anybody other than them$elve$? LOL! Plus, a lot of the “homeless” in Sequim/PA are couch-surfing “local youth” who love drugs and hate work, and know how to game the system.

You should buy them bus tickets to Los Angeles. Our weather is much warmer. No one would freeze out here. They might get a disease, robbed, raped or killed though. I am hoping to move to Sequim or maybe North Kitsap one day. I hope there is not to many tweakers up there. If you want to see some bad issues caused by allowing homelessness to fester in your community, come here.
