Very nice review Pete. I bought one similar to this one about two years ago, I only used it once.

Hey Pete, This just figured, I just purchased a new soldering iron, a SEQUIRE SQ001, and as much as I like it, the S99 with the case looks great. I also like how you can go to 500c with mine I can only go up to 450c, I also like the LED cable and power supply, I see that the SQ001 you show that it's disconnected, that figures ! But it's still widely sold. Thanks for the video and information about these soldering irons

I still use the sq001 out in the field. I always carry it in my bag and works great. I always have 4s batteries on hand so it is perfect. 500°C is great but don't really need it that hot. But I do love the type C port for power since it can be used with just about any type c cable. Thanks for watching! Cheers!

As you rub it on the board i can see the tip wobbling in the iron

Good review. I have an older AliExpress version of this iron. It’s OK but build quality is meh and it didn’t come with any of the accessories. Figured it was only a matter of time before Sequre or Sainsmart or similar made an iron to take C245 tips, so I’ll def be picking this up. Hopefully they can get IronOS to work on this as well. Being able to use C245 tips means you can get just about any tip shape/size imaginable from JBC. They’re not cheap but they are fantastic quality. As good as it worked in your video, if you had a 5mm chisel or something like that, it would have melted those ESC pads just about instantly, even at 300° C. These irons are so good these days I’ve gotten rid of my Hakko solder stations. I just use this for everything. Fantastic.

I ordered mine a couple days ago. I sure hope it isn’t missing g the XT60 cable since including one was half the reason I settled on this iron.

Thanks Ray!!! I really love these portable irons. They work so well and can do anything the big desk top models can do.

Before you buy, check the price of replacement tips. Outrageous!

What is the minimum watts to use in a Flight Controller with XT 60 connector wire and the motor wires?
@RCEscape11 ай бұрын
Well, I believe it powers up with 5volts @1amp so my guess is 5watts? Got innards for the bong?
@ChaddyFPV11 ай бұрын
So, 65watts soldering iron is the one to choose.
@RCEscape11 ай бұрын
@@ChaddyFPV Yes, hot enough to light up the bong too :)

It is not difficult at all to get 150w out of this iron. Use a 240w USB-C cable, change the power settings from auto to 100% and connect it directly to a power supply @ 21v and more than 10amps. The Website says PPS protocol is recommended, this is not true and the most powerful PPS is 140w. The Iron is tip dependant, but I just went through my C245 tips and I got between 120 and 150w. The iron gets to full temperature is about 1.5 seconds.
