My dad found one in a garage sale. It does not have a power supply included and I don't know how to test if it is working. I've read that you can use USB C with PD protocol to power it. I have an apple macbook USB C charger will that work? I don't want to buy a power supply until i can find out if the iron is working.

will it work with a 20v usb c ?

People say that it draws 1.37 amperes no matter of the power supply voltage, so it should have about 33w max power. Could you please check It's power consumption at 24 volts?

It’s a great iron. I got the D-24 chisel tip and it handles small pads to xt60s.

I recommend to tighten tip retaining clips what are inside off the airon, otherwise tip is barely holding in, and the airon sometimes can go in "error " mode because of that.

Thanks for that advice, checking the product page and the pictures are making clear to tighten the tip, i missed to talk about that in my video.

This soldering iron supports PD protocol, a Type-C=Type-C cable is required for normal PD operation.

Alright you got rid of the gloves!!! Great review and soldering tests. You definitely need a bigger tip for the battery pads especially the negative pad. Can the firmware be upgraded via USB? I have the TS100 and was able to change the firmware so iron can achieve 480 degrees, does the job on the negative battery pad

Thanks! Yes I definitely need bigger tips! I already heart about the Custom Firmware for the TS100, but can't find a custom firmware for the D60B - but if I will find one, I probably will try it out :)
