I went here for a year 2017-18. Dont be fooled by the acceptance rate. Much of the student body consists of stoner burnouts and i doubt its changed. Absolutely filled with skater bros etc. I remember being surprised that some of these people got into a "selective" school. I transferred to a community college and the coursework was exactly the same along with the people. There are alot of pretty girls at SDSU (they only pay attention to frat bros for the most part) if thats something you care about and the campus is nice. I HIGHLY recommend having a car for quality of life and exploring San Diego otherwise you will feel like a prisoner to the campus if none of your friends have a car. You can find parties in the surrounding neighborhoods without being in a frat but guys will need to pay $5-10 each for entry. I also highly recommend having a longboard to get to classes. You can use a bike, but the wheels will get stolen overnight. I found it very easy to make friends here.

absolutely wild. most people said no cons but then the times people said the cons....they sounded PRETTY FUCKIN SEVERE. 'no AC, Mold, no dining hall, broken dryers, cant find classes, brown water' sounds like its a shitty school in a beautiful area

Its a party school THAT SWEARS its a top tier university. I was saved to be accepted to a UC in the area 😉 Don’t let SDSU fool you, its a mediocre Uni with transplants from San Marcos and elsewhere who are usually pointed out as being weird outsiders from San Diego, SDSU is definitely not a good representation of San Diegans or the city at large🤷🏽‍♂️

Though we have a reputation as a party school,SDSU excels in academics, including International Business and STEM including Psychology, Engineering and Biology. I enjoyed my lab class in Biology. And their Social sciences, Humanities and Languages programs are great. They also have great study abroad programs. We have tutoring for some STEM classes, a writing center for proofreading essays and great library for research and studying. We have academic clubs.Many professors are not only knowledgeable but they are passionate in their fields and helpful. Although students are from out-of-state and from international countries, or from other CA cities,many are local San Diegans.

SDSU is my 1st choice! And btw STILL have not received an admissions decision yet(its 4 days til end of march)😢 The cons do have me a bit concerned😬 But loved the pros people said

SDSU was my number one as well. I ended up going somewhere else. But I will say that a lot of these cons exist at different big schools- the mold in dorms, Greek life being a lot, getting tired of the food plan, & classes being hard to get into/ professors not caring. But with that where I go the pros don’t exist that exist at sdsu. I think going to college it takes off the blinders & had i gone to sdsu I would have thought those problems were big at that school. So just be open minded that a lot of common problems are at each school!

And I know that if they do choose to reject me, its just the universe telling me there is a school better suited for me and somewhere I will thrive at!!! It'll be a positive sign more than a negative sign!!😁

@@megannuibe yes definitely! Just keep an open mind that some problems can seem so associated with a certain school that are very common! So even if where you chose you feel there are many problems at that particular school, many other students are facing the same thing!

I toured SDSU with my son in November and he loved it there. Surprised in the best way. He said SDSU moved up high on his list. We’re from NY so he loves the weather of course and he felt like he was on vacation there with the architecture. He wants Comp Eng and it’ll be a tough go just getting accepted but maybe he’ll se you in the fall if you’re still there. Thanks for the video.

My son will be attending SDSU and staying student housing. A con is almost 20k for a bunk bed. Prisoners get more living space than sdsu freshman
