Given that most of my Skinks are still from the Warhammer 4th edition, they have bows. So I pretty much run whichever I feel like it :) But I really like that idea of clubs + shields with the Stegadon with Skink Chief. I might try that out in the near future.

Yep! A 40 skink blob with the two support heroes is useful in just about any list

Another good video summary! Only things I’d add are that the Hand of glory spell lets you reroll 1’s in combat as well as shooting. Also give the skinks the command ability from Slann/Kroak and they’re at a 2+ save against shooting, them put them in cover! I took out 2 Bloodthirsters in 1 turn with a buffed unit of 40, one in the shooting phase and another in the combat phase!

Watching this gave me an idea. What if you took the bound endless spell "Emerald Lifeswarm" and used it to keep your skinks alive? 3+ tanky skinks that get d3 models back on your turn? Now you have lizard necrons!

Yep! Would be quite good! And well worth the 10 points for the Bound version so that only you can control it!

Yep! They are an interesting unit. Very niche... but seems like they might have a role somehow... Will do.

I think point for point chameleons can do even more damage than normal skinks. But you loose out on board presence. They also provide some much needed movement shenanigans in coalesced.

Just beat my brothers idoneth. The skinks are so well rounded. The mortals really help with not allowing eels to be such a wall. Just wish I had more! The 40 blobs with buff priests seem mandatory for unleashing the cheese.

Nice... Thanks for the video. I love skinks, but I also see some potential in Chameleon Skinks. Especially in Fangs of Sotek. I would ignore their hiding ability, buff them just like regular skinks and they should delete everything (15 models in the unit). Mortals on hit, mortals on wounds... love it.

Yep! Quite good! I love 40 blocks with a Starpriest and Priest in support. 40 wounds on a 4+ save (from priest) with some great board control and range.

I've ran boltspitters n clubs before, remember in the battalion they get a plus 1 to hit. N chief gives plus 1 to hit. U add reroll 1s, n that's 80 shots hitting on 3s rerolling 1s n then 2s rerolling 1s with 120 attacks lol. N make sure the serpent staff is on to collect mortal wounds on 6s in shooting phase n cc. Can u check the damage output on that?

Haha yikes! That could be terrifying. Assuming all 40 can shoot and about 20 can melee.... over 50 dmg vs a 4+ save! If somehow you could fight all 40 (two ranks of 20 wide)... that would be almost 80 dmg vs a 4+ save! Lol

Im not much into Seraphon, but enjoyed the video. One can see you really love those little dinos 😁 Also, damn, those skinks are nasty. But I wonder if you could go one step beyond, drop the salamanders and go full horde, like adding one more 40 block and 4x10 for screening purposes? 😂

But salamanders are pretty deadly by themselves. Without magical support skinks wont help a lot. It is important to have something independent of main strat too

If you buy the set do the mini's come pre-painted?

Nope, they come on plastic sprues. You will have to cut each peice off the prue and assemble each model. An easy way to get your Skinks painted fast would be: 1. Assemble 2. Prime with a flat white spray paint 3. Use a few contrast paints to paint the models quickly (one color for the skink, one for weapon, one for shield)
