Hey Phil!! I hear you talk about the ddj tips office is in Gibraltar. I lived in Cheltenham when I was younger and only remember hearing of Gibraltar the island not as in a town in England. Oh yeah thanks for this lesson on stems for the cdj 3000.

Yup, although it's not actually an island as we are connected to the mainland (by the airport runway, bizarrely).

I think the next move for Serato, is get that CDJ 3000 touch screen updated for the stems, hot cues, and the other features. It makes sense to do a software update before we see new hardware update. I suspect we are are going to see some big changes in the CDJ moving forward. When I have no idea. The Software is miles ahead of that CDJ's can do now. For me right now, if i was using Serato the most obvious work around would be, to add something like a midi fighter from DJ tech tools (500g / 1 extra usb). Or even a Traktor F1 (750g / 1 extra usb). Stems are that good now i think its well worth learning to map something yourself. I'd love to see Serato bring out something like the X1 / F1. For effects, stems & hot cues. Something around £200 less than 1kg.

I MIDI mapped a user mode on the XP2 for stems. It only took a few minutes to set up. Been using it like this for almost a year.

Why is the pioneer xdj-xz not on the list of compatible controllers? Is it because your video talking about cdj's .

This video is about serato accessories - add-ons that can now use stems too. XDJ-XZ has always been able to.

I don't understand when you say that a piece of hardware "unlocks" Serato. Does that mean that there's a version of Serato "in" the hardware? Or is it that your version of Serato won't work until you plug it into the hardware. I'm confused. I'm not a Serato user so I don't get it!

It means when you plug in your hardware into your laptop, it will unlock Serato.

Normally you need to purchase the Serato software separately to be able to use Serato Pro with your DJ gear. So with a controller that hardware unlocks Serato DJ Pro, you can use the full software even if you haven't purchased it separately.

The 3000's are not a "dual layer" deck, denon is years ahead with that with their standalone players, and Phil btw I am a Pioneer player but believe me when I say that you are mostly pushing pioneer products...t would be nice to five the other brands some attention too...@@digitaldjtips

I went to parties where the dj was doing mash-ups and have yet to see people enjoying that. Myself included. Maybe it's because I'm a musician, but I hate it when dj's do it, they're almost always ruining both songs in terms of pitch and timing. Is anybody actually happy to hear that? Help me understand haha

it's time that cdj's started including controller style pads... it's disappointing that on a cdj-3000 you have to choose between hot cues and stems... but not both 😑
