hachimura always reminded me of rudy gay. not quiet as athletic but very similar. games and demeanors in terms of how they go about getting buckets within the flow of the offense. as a laker fan i would trade a lot of players on the squad if i was the gm. rui is not one of them.

to add a lil bit more cause eff it lol. right now since he most likely is the number 1 option this is a great opportunity to find out his 3-5 best spots and go to moves on the floor and work on getting those shots off as the “man” that way once he back on the lakers he knows and has a clear idea of where he can be most effective in his role. he takes one more step and becomes a consistent 17-19 point per game kinda guy and lakers can really compete for a championship. dlo is who is is and will never be a guy that you can count on for a championship aspiring team. somebody has to take the spot of the clear number 3 guy on the lakers and rui can do that with a bit of confidence and consistency.

Japan doesn’t have the physicality and size to play and defend against the bigger and better teams. Other than Hachimura, Yuta plays hard and entire team plays with heart but they don’t have size and physicality, they got skills but that can only take you so far. I hope they win some games in the Olympics though.
