Who wins higher note? That's clearly Serena. I love MC too. I knew MC before Serena. But it shouldn't be hard to admit someone else is rising up. No one will be on top forever. And of course we actually need it to be that way. Keeps us humble. Someone will surpass Serena in the same way or better, in the course of time. However, I do admit too that MC's was clearer. Don't know if that's just voice or music equipment.

Serena was literally terrible. Just cause somebody can scream a couple notes higher than somebody doesn’t mean that they are any better. Serena’s control and pitch were nonexistent. “Rising up”??? This video came out around 10 years ago (this is a reupload) and we haven’t heard anything else from her. She probably blew out her untalented voice.

Higher isn’t always better. Not only did Mariah sing it better, she can still go even higher and lower than that girl’s vocal range. This song was made a certain way to sound a certain way and Mariah knocked it out of the park and Serena just added like two or three higher notes. Let it be known that the quality of Serena’s notes and Mariah’s own are in entirely different leagues, but she added some notes so credit where credit is due. But if Mariah decided that adding those notes were necessary, best believe if would have wiped the floor with the extra notes Serena added. It’s not a mean or bad thing though. It’s literally Mariah Carey.
