I grew up with Williams sisters. Venus was my favorite with her chill persona and i was in love with her since first day i saw her even though i was 5 years old :D . But it is Serena who inspired me to learn to fight for myself and "take what is mine to take" in a good way. She is one of the strongerst childhood idols i had, so so strong i love to see that she is still that strong. U go girl !!!

This is one of the saddest retirements ive had. 15 years ago i new the Williams sisters would be the absolute best. Ive watched nearly every single and doubles matched they've ever played. Watching them win and loose then win again has been a ride. As great as I knew they were I knew one day they wold have to move on,..and here we are. I will ALWAYS think of the Williams sisters whenever I seek f tennis and beauty. They will be missed on the courts I only hope the WILLIAMS TENNIS ACADEMY opens soon cause the world needs more talent like the Williams Sisters and no one could teach new talents better than the ones who did it.

I was thinking the same thing... like no shade... but Gayle had to make it about herself... that being said... she was interviewing kinda nicely because when she saw (and when we all saw) Serena get that look on her face like she was ready to cry or when her voice was cracking and she was about to cry... Gayle actually did a good job to kinda change the subject or rewire the question back to make it a happy occasion... i do agree with you... but I didn't want my girl to cry and Gayle kinda helped stop that from happening... but yes i still agree with you lol

Venus is a vey personable, contained woman. Serena has always been a miserable, hideously overweight, utterly unnuanced player. Her outbursts are legendary and of a savagely vituperative nature. People have the counter-factual belief that her doppelganger, McEnroe, was good for tennis. "TENNIS" magazine quantified that 35% of the merchandising threshold, "twice a week" tennis players, left the game during McEnroe's #1 position. Similarly his brother was a very sportsmanlike player.
