Don't be a hater there are great players and 1ga is just unstoppable. It's just that the Williams sisters will always be legendary, not only for tennis' history but for sport's history. Something like this is not gonna happen again.

No wonder they simultaneously occupied the top 2 spots in singles and top spot in doubles for some weeks in 2010. Serena also won 2 slams in singles during this impressive run. It's incredible she won the 2010 Australia open title considering the injuries she was battling with. It was quite evident in the Australia open doubles finals. I doubt there would be another legendary pair of siblings like these 2 in sports.

To think that not only did she beat Henin to win the singles, but she also won doubles with Venus is just wild. Not the first singles/doubles Grand slam win for the two to boot. What legends!

Thanks for this. Often times at grand slams, their seedings were based on previous performances rather than rankings. It's cool that they were the #1 seed at Roland Garros because they were the actual top team.

@@roter13I think Martina does get mentioned often in the GOAT debate, but I agree it should be more. In my opinion Serena, Steffi and Martina are the only women who have a legitimate case for being considered greatest of all time, and it ultimately comes down to personal opinion. I’m not a believer that pure numbers are the best/most important metric to measure that. It is interesting, though, that they are all from three different generations, and they each had a brief overlap with each other’s careers (well, not Serena and Martina, but you know what I’m getting at).

I was trying to keep track on my fave rallies from this video, but it was too hard. Watching Venus and Serena play doubles together was always so fun to watch for me. For being part-time doubles players, they sure did much better than a lot of the established pairings during their time. Since Serena retired from tennis, I've honestly lost interest in the game and no longer tune in.
