Here’s my pitch: Never ending story-ish except it’s a video game instead of book. The Dad is in the Ateryu role and has to save the world, the kid is the Sebastian character. Robin Williams is there and it is all wholesome pg fun like how a son should create a video game with their dad as the main character!!! There. I fixed it.

Okay so funny story about Jake Gyelnhall, my sister is obsessed with him since we were kids when we saw Prince of Persia (which you guys should review because it is ridiculous!) so at one point my mom was talking to her about him and they were looking at a photo and my mom goes, omg does he have a lazy eye? And my sister screamed YES MOM!!!! IT MAKES HIM QUIRKY A RELATABLE!!!!! So now when we're gossiping or being bitchy we say that when people are obviously trying to hard!

Omg! So when I saw serenity, I thought should this be a retro review? But then when you said Matthew McConaughey, I was like oh yeah! I remember see that trailer...Anne Hathaway should not be blonde! I was thinking about it and I think fassy would be better suited because the main character is damaged but sexy and he does that well. I was also thinking maybe Hiddleston or Oscar issac? But if they were to go to the campy realm, Jason statham or Gerald Butler!
@Ryan-xs9px5 жыл бұрын
WAIT THE GOOD VERSION OF THIS MOVIE COULD BE SO GOOD so the whole movie goes back and forth between the kid and mom at home and dad at the island or whatever and there can be scenes where the kid's like "mom, i miss dad" and she's like "i know sweetie, me too" and the whole time you're like what is this poor piece of shit deadbeat dad doing on this island and then there's a sick twist at the end ugh i'm so mad this isn't that movie

I actually personally met the guy who directed this. He's a client of somebody in my family- really nice guy and offered me a lot of creative advice when I was considering getting into scriptwriting In the UK, where I'm from, he's best known for writing a show called Peaky Blinders which stars Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy. I haven't got around to seeing it, but it's generally regarded as a great show by audiences and critics He's a great writer and extremely talented... I'm admittedly baffled that he's attached to this :/

Ok, fix the movie; take out all the weird unnecessary dark stuff like his dad whoring himself out, take away the obviousness of everything and be subtle, have it play out and the dad throws the stepdad to the shark and the shark kills the stepdad but then more things happen and the dad ends up dead as well, then there's a "game over" screen which is the reveal of the video game twist and the kid goes to the last savepoint and plays it through again this time not killing the stepdad, the tuna named justice or something subtler pulls the stepdad into the water and he gets taken away then in real life the kid has to decide between stabbing his dad (maybe the knife sheath has a shark design or something) and calling child protection which has some connection to tuna (like the house phone being in the kitchen next to the shelf with the cans of tuna).... idk it's still a bad movie but it's better and has a plot and reason

So glad you did so I could hear someone else say Diane Lane was the best part of this movie and at the same time too good for this movie. Truly a wackadoo movie. Maybe it was one of his dad’s video games, and he is modifying it and the character his dad made in it. That would explain the mature content, and it makes sense because he would have a baseline character that was moulded and imprinted by the many hours his dad played. But it isn’t a perfect reflection, as it is restricted by the attributes of the game so the son is trying to fill in the gaps like his dad’s past, but the game is limited in how he can behave like making money ect. And the son try’s to bring his mother into the game to bring his family back together but the game doesn’t have love or romance just sex and the like. He makes his mum resent her new husband by making him abusive in the game.

What if the movie starts with the dad and the kid. The dad is in serious debt and has a lot of problems, but the kid idealizes him. Eventually the dad resolves his many problems/debt and they live a life how the kid had always imagined it. But, as the story progresses, the dad corrupts and slowly picks up bad habits again, leading into his death. Then you get like a scene of the kid when they were younger attending the funeral of his dad and you realize the kid has built this elaborate world to escape in.
