Hope you enjoy today’s video. It was a joy to make and it helped me to get a few long awaited jobs off of my to do list 😅 I’m looking forward to chatting with you all in the comments and hearing what gardening jobs you are ticking off your list this week. Thanks for watching. Shine on, Daya 🌱

This next week will be all about mulching against the oncoming dry season, planting and prepping beds for the hot weather crops, and loooots of trips to the dump for bushfire prevention. Less than glamorous, but just doing the things so that the things don't do me 😅

@@thegardenlikesdad sounds like a super productive week. What do you use to mulch your garden with? Well done on getting these jobs done before the heat and the bushfire season.

I so look forward to your videos Daya - they make my week. Your composting system is amazing - if I ever get to purchase a big property like yours, I will definitely look into have a 3 bay system with a compost crew, hens, worms and everything else that comes with good composting measures. Right now I have one composting bin which is only half full. I would love to set up in-ground worm farms, but Mavis loves to dig - so they are a no go at the moment (until she calms down with a bit of age), same as having chickens - Mavis does love to chase the birds - she is a terror hahahaha!! Your lavender border is going to look amazing and I love the way you are integrating everything with the paths - such a wonderful thing to watch. Wishing you a blessed weekend in the veggie patch my beautiful garden pixie xxx

Awww thank you. I enjoy making them. The 3 bay composter is great and works well for what I do but tbh I made it this size so I could use the tractor in it cause as you know I am a lazy gardener 😂 Bless Miss Mavis, that’s nice of you to give her the time she needs to learn and settle. I’m so glad you are enjoying the lavender border journey. I’m excited to see it come to life. I have a few little design features I’m working on atm and I’m looking forward to sharing them in next weeks video. As always, thanks for watching and for the chat my dear fellow green thumb and have a beautiful week xxx

Hiya Deb, gardens are a journey in themselves and are always evolving which is what I love because they are never truely done but you are right, it does feel good to tick a few long awaited jobs off the list. I hear you about having so much to do and sometimes when I feel overwhelmed I recall the saying… nature never rushes and yet everything happens on time. Thanks for the chat. Hope all is blooming in your world. Daya 🌱

Your garden looks amazing! Can you tell me if the structures above the garden beds have a purpose or purely decorative? I absolutely love them, but I have to convince my husband to build them. I live in Yass which is hot & dry in summer & I get frost in winter, will these structures protect the veggies from these elements? Cheers Mabel

@@mabeljackson6113 Hi Mabel, welcome to the channel and thank you for your kindnesses and for watching too. The Veg Temples are both decorative and purposeful. Here are the few ways I use them: 🍅tomato support - I pin a staple in the ground then tie a plant tie to it and weave the plant tie around the tomato and tie it to the top rails. 😎Summer Shades - I built shadecloth frames that can be attached to the posts to reduce heat and wind exposure. I use these mostly in the peak of summer or for light frost control. 🪰 Pest Curtains - I built removable covers that stop fruit fly and other pests. They cover the whole frame and have splits that open to allow access to harvest or maintenance. 🌱 Trellising - I weave trellises from cord to create light weight trellises 🏠 I have designed a coreflute hot house cover but haven’t completed the construction. I’m aiming for this towards winter this year. I am so hearing you about convincing hubby. My hubby was the same and thought I was mad when I designed them but now he can see the vision and he loves them as much as I do. They would work great in your climate. We once lived near Goulburn and understand how hot, dry and cold it can get. We are now 2 hours north of Sydney and feel very spoilt by the beautiful climate. Thanks for the chat and I wish you all the best with your garden. Shine on, Daya 🌱

How did you set up the veg gardens. Did you space them a certain.
@shinewellbeingvegpatch14 сағат бұрын
The VegTemples are 1800x1800mm and the paths are 1100mm wide. ☺️
