What a great find for my son and I as we sit down with our Fish & Chips dinner! Another magical fairy place where everything is looked after. There could be little Leprechauns or Hobbits also taking care of those little house masoleums. What I love the most is so, so many have fresh flowers and items attended to each grave. And the fact that later generations have already secured new tablets with fresh readable names of all the deceased there is wonderful. That is why I have to go to Northern Ireland to replace the headstone on my grand-parent's and great grand-parent's grave. The headstone has cracked and broken and in need of replacement. I will also bury my parent's ashes and add their names to the new headstone. Great video! I loved it Suzanne! 🇮🇪♥️🙏🇺🇸

@@SerenitySueGraveyards I promised my Dad that I would go over and fix it before I died. So I am adding my parents which will make it three generations and I will write down that it was erected by the seven Kirkwood girls. My maiden name is Kirkwood. Kirkwood (Scottish) for church in the woods. My Mother's maiden name was Kingston. Cathal found a masoleum in the Kingston name I think in Bristol and you found a Kingston plot somewhere in southeast Ireland near you. The Kingston's were Catholic, the Kirkwood's Presbyterian. The Catholics won out!

I researched my ancestry, but don’t have anything before the 1700s. my family came over to America at that time of the 1700s, but before the records were lost we had a person who works with ancestry to research and she couldn’t find anything. This is on my father side my DNA came back 68% British which shocked me. I’ve never been across the pond to England or Ireland and I would love to see it. ETA: I just finished watching the whole video and just wanted to say great video as usual, beautiful graveyard. Love from 🇨🇦 15:31 Same, I used to be scared of death and dead bodies a lot but I found that confronting my fears by watching videos like this and others when viewing dead people(real dead bodies which you can find online) I came to accept it. I even wanted to become an embalmer, however where I live it's only a small town and when I emailed the funeral home to ask if it was in demand he responded that it wasn't, so I decided to not do the course. Anyway I want to thank you and Grave Visitation for filming the inside of the mausoleums, including the skulls and bones/remains as I truly believe it helps other people as well to come to terms with death. As for the mausoleums, I think it shows that maybe being buried is better since in 100+ years after your death no one is going to remember you, visit and take care of your "death house" unless maybe it's a really big mausoleum that future family members can be entombed in, then there will be people caring for it for many generations which I guess would be pretty cool to know when you die you'll not only be entombed with your parents, grandparents and great grandparents but also your ancestors. Over time they should remove the bones from the oldest remains' big coffins to place them in smaller containers then you can keep adding more people of the same family in it.
@SerenitySueGraveyards10 ай бұрын
We talked to a man in a video which will be out soon, anyway he told us he'd buried his mother last October and he had the task of moving his dad's remains over to allow his mums coffin to go inside. I did ask how he felt and he said, " it's sad to see and have to do but I know dad's gone and now my mother is with him forever" I too am very interested in funerals and embalming, think it's a job I'd like, you being the last person to give respect to them and get them ready for Heaven

This is so unusual! Graves are for the living but it sure is interesting marveling over them.

Just stumbled upon your Channel. My favorite grandmother who has spent a lot of my childhood with live in the United States for 60 years but she never lost her accent hearing you speak instantly took me back to being 7 years old listening to her talk to herself as she cooked and cleaned the house. She outlived all three of her husbands and two of her kids and died at the ripe old age of 101. I wish I could just hear you say Robert get away from the door, or Robert help me clean this house up and we'll put a colored record on.

What an amazingly beautiful place! I believe it was at the Mc Dermott tomb, that I noticed that the wife's name was before her husband's. That's quite rare, especially for the early 1900's I'd suspect. Sue, have you and "Grave Vegitations" (yes I caught him saying that!) been to New Orleans? I'm still fairly new to both your channels, so I wondered if you two had been? I'd LOVE to know what you two thought of it. 💛 God bless you both, and as always, thank you for sharing!

As you're reading the plaque on one of the little 'cottage mausoleums" - "Charles Gallagher - 1872" .. I couldn't help but thinking that the First Fleet didn't even arrive in Australia until just 84 years before that stone was carved ... and the region where I live hadn't even been stepped upon by a white man until just 25 years before Charles Gallagher passed away, so I don't doubt that he read (or heard) news of settlement in Australia. For me, your videos of these old cemeteries and graveyards always invoke thoughts of history as having a parallel time-line between my side of the globe and yours, every time .... ❤ ❌❌

That's amazing, I've never thought of it like that, certainly gives time to think

@@SerenitySueGraveyards I'm just now watching a video on Grave Visitations (They Died a Horrible Death - 6 days ago) - and there's a truly magnificent headstone from 1746 in perfect condition .. It's been right there this whole time, in a beautiful graveyard of a ruined church out in the lush green Irish countryside - since 24 years before Captain Cook even discovered the Southern and East coasts of the Australian continent ... It just blows my mind to think of time in those historic terms, Sue ...
