Listened to this work many times on CD, but it's not until you actually see it being played that you realise how much physical energy it requires. A fine performance by these two musicians.

I feel like the page-turner is the Western classical music equivalent of the tamboura player in North Indian classical music. Their main job is to be invisible in plain sight. Excellent job, page-turner! I hardly noticed you were there, and when I did, it was the camera's fault, not yours.

I know that this two women are very good playing their respective instruments, but sorry, the only word it comes to me when I hear them playing this piece is "chaos". Ritmically very caprichious, too rustic (when the cello plays the pizzicati I hear only noise) and a very unpleasant cello sound, rigid and pressed (easy to see the muscles of Ms. Gabetta very tense). It seems also that they didn't rehearse enough together the piece. Sorry, not good for me.
@donnewmeyer31335 жыл бұрын
I disagree on every point. I’m a cellist, and I hear a magnificent sound. It’s a capricious work, and these players are stylistically sensitive.
