I think without the damage, the most he could've done was chased down Piastri for P4. The top 3 seemed to have more than enough capability when all cars were running in clean air to keep Checo at bay.

Horner said that Perez’ car was damaged and had lost some downforce. Seems that the telemetry is putting the blame on the car, not the driver?
@mal3x7 ай бұрын
Pérez didn't mention it, horner did.
@Xcelential7 ай бұрын
. @mal3x Horner mentioned the cause (damage leading to loss of downforce). Perez and Horner both mentioned an effect (excessive graining of tires). The way Horner said it sounded like he wasn't blaming the driver, but the car. However, in another interview, Horner said that he wouldn't rule out swapping Sainz for Checo next year. So, it's unclear if he believes a better driver would still have gotten to the front of the field, even with the damage to the car. I think Max has won even when his car wasn't in perfect condition.
@mal3x7 ай бұрын
@@Xcelential He actually said that probably checo wasn't even aware of the damage, but they saw the low down force, and once they got the car back confirm the damage, and saying Carlos is not ruled out, it's just a play of cards, Carlos family are married to Audi now, they just haven't announced it, and he is obviously increasing his contract value. Checo only knew that they "overdid' the adjustment and graining just swapped back to front, I reviewed some of the video and checo goes on the curb when he set up the pass on Alonso, I think that's when he bottomed hard.

@@mal3x Thanks for the info. Sounds like a good explanation. It will be interesting to see how the season unfolds for Carlos and Checo.
@mal3x7 ай бұрын
@@Xcelential yeap, well they call it "silly season" for a reason right? It's like Ricciardo to Redbull? Why would you do that? And also the Max drama means you need to keep checo as a baseline in case max leaves, like this the new driver could be the only variable and compared to all the data validated by Perez, it's like if Perez gets a little faster, it's because the car, and you adjust everything else to that... So Carlos on a multi year contract in rbr to replace checo, I just don't see it, cause in 1 year is the big reshuffle... So if max leaves, Sainz for max on a 1 year contract. Which I think Audi will commit first to. If max is undecided checo gets an extension.

I'm pretty sure you haven't watched the race. Pretty obvious that you are here after checking the results lol Red bull clearly got the setup wrong on both cars
@maximusmiles84357 ай бұрын
Setup wrong? Max got pole, and only did 3 laps in the race. Perez like always was .359 for 3rd. They did do some front wing adjustments during the race, but other drives were calling the car a rocket ship. At the halfway point it looked like he was going to get at least 3rd then he lost pace. The bottom line is that if Max was driving that car. He most likely would win, not get 3rd or 5th. There are some drivers on the grid that would have at least gotten 3rd in that car. Perez is consistently .500 behind max. Not acceptable. @@shashankurva2592

Actually he picked up damage on the floor while passing Alonso. And Redbull apoogized cause it was the team who picked up the penalty while fostering max track position in quali. But hey, haters will have to keep crying for a long time after he gets the new contract. What was last year? "It's the pressure" it was the car😅.

@@Kiwi_Dave same way that verstappen did in FP1. Bottoming out on a curb because the cars set up was too low. Not his fault and also happened to verstappen.
