In this tutorial I am going to show you a simple way to execute a Query or an SQL Query from Excel and to dump the data into a Table.
To develop the tutorial I had to install a virtual machine with Windows Server and SQL Server, to simulate a real environment. Previously I had already developed a tutorial on how to query SQL information using Power Query. In this tutorial we will make a connection equal, but we will use another tool.
Access credentials to the SQL Server
To be able to connect to the SQL Server we must first know the name of the Server or its IP. Inside the virtual machine we execute the CMD application and execute the IPCONFIG command, which will tell us the IP of the Windows Server. The SQL user and password will be the same as those assigned at the time of installation or a user that can be created after the installation. In case you do not have a testing environment like the previous one, I suggest you ask your Systems department for the following information:
-IP or name of the Server.
-Assigned user of SQL.
-Password of the assigned user.
