In my opinion, AOE3 is a solid game, but it was not what the fans wanted at that time, taking into consideration how much they waited for a sequel. The concept is interesting and maybe if it released under a different IP it would have garnered more favorable reviews.

1 barracks produces 5 at a time.... 4 barracks produces 20 at a time.... same with artillery and stables... fort is also a source of military production.... build max houses to get up to 200 pop count. Arsenal and church give upgrades to military and buildings. You had great potential, you just need to learn how to use it more efficiently.

I don't think you've ever played AOE before, you just started on this new "D.E", you made a big mistake in your defenses and you worried about making troops when the enemy was already attacking you. He didn't use the navy at first, and then he tried to use it. He only set up artillery at the end, still tried to use mortars to attack troops. WTF

10 sellers for food, 10 settlers for wood, 20 for gold ans two settlers for resources from the cards. Build your defense and your army. Don't need so many settlers, 42 is plenty

I never loved this game as much AoM and AoE 2... Recently I learned about the D.E. of all AGES except Mythology that I hope that if they made it with those 3 imagine with Mythology how it looks like. For a first time I saw so awesome visuals and sound effects in that classic map but now enhanced in size and textures!! Even the features that have given by the world map (capital ) to your region in addition with the animations inside in your map for example a woods pack and a villager/settler with all these animations give so much life to that old game !!! But the most epic is the screams of death while the AI has invaded to your Region and I love that is not finish you from the first attack nor the other maybe five or four.. but gives you time like in RL that if you have around the region/ your base villagers that you can rebuild your empire elsewhere but the AI knows that if you get slower slower stronger you are dangerous for it and I noticed that every time that after the first serious attack I built a cool nearby larger empire ( I remained with only 2 villagers for example far from the empire ) but it was already stronger enough to finish me off...! So if it notices that I build artillery structure again that is the most powerful weapon in AOE3 I just make my prays and preparations coz is already coming for the final strike XD ! Like in RL, after a conquer situation it wasn't genocide the most times so the opponent had to rebuild or unite with other allies to move on its Empire. So in addition to this situation of waiting if the AI notice you rebuild and getting stronger and stronger with army updates and expand your empire until it comes with full power cannons and the screams of your people that dying and those really awesome in a RTS like this here of ruin/destruction and explosion hits and smoke effects with those cool sound effects of bombardment gives so much Life in here !!! Without Definitive Editions of all Age of Empires we would not return at the age of 30 or more to that very old and unique RTS series !!!! Really I challenge the old RTS guys to remember the gameplay but this time on its full GLORY these series AOE AO2 AOE3 and I encourage the knew to those very old and unique for me first RTS to give a try in 2021 and watch /play those great series with joy and strategic mind and see total war sound or visual hit effects inside that RTS great series that are the Father of bfme 1 & and any other one !! Really Congratulations to all these Guys who worked really hard to make all those D.E. of AOE series so immersive Final the music theme of AOE 3 is something that really takes you in that Age , something like pirates of Caribbean , patriot or just takes you in those beautiful lands of colonies oor 18 century of Napoleonic era PS: I see later your video uploader and it really rocks !!! Even with so much zoom in inside a hit /explosion after hearing the cannons firing they made to create so great RTS and total war situation in AOE 3 and then comes the ruin / destruction visual and sound effect !!!! I just love the enhanced level that D.E. gave to all those very ancient series !!! They really made them now in a max of their level. Of course someone if already has not yet made it, will come out the GEMFX and shader modes ..and then ook, then you just let the enemy destroy you every time only to just sit and watch the visuals and sound FX XD!!!

What was that unit composition? He had made five mortars but made zero anti-cav units like the pikemen. He should've made a lot of musks too which work well against hussars. Also only one barrack? You should have two. Plus he could've turtled but some of his economic decisions were also questionable. Like the fact that he could've utilized that wood that he had to manor boom but he didn't.

Set aside the guy's flawed strategy... that's just a thing every player learns at a point. What I REALLY don't get is two things: 1. Why was he constantly selecting a bunch of settlers that were busy doing something, and just made them do the same shit at a different location?! O_o 2. Why was he sending settlers so far away from base to chop trees and mine stone, when he had plenty of trees and stone in base??
