cathook was the original base code for the bots. Sadly people have made alternatives to cathook way before this happened. On the bright side, this github takedown was done by a small group of people, some I think were former bot hosters, who are enraged by how low Omegatronic, an infamous hacker/troll, was willing to go for clout. For context he posted himself on social media making fun of the Rick May statues, essentially stomping on someone's grave while in front of mourners. While it was expected that he would be attacked for this, seriously no community is gonna show a grave stomper mercy, I cannot condone the use of doxxing even if its to ruin a troll.

On the other hand, however, stock weapons are heavily underappreciated and are great all-rounder weaponry. That Scattergun can still pick off a Medic in two clean meatshots, Soldier can still rocket jump around and take out Sentry Nests from afar, flames are flames & airblast is airblast, Demoman's default stickybomb launcher and grenade launcher are super deadly in the hands of a skilled player. Heavy could be a bit shite, but good Engineers know that their shotgun and pistol are effective weapons at taking out overconfident enemies even when their buildings aren't around. Stock Sniper can still one-shot enemies from across the map, & Spy can still do his job just as effectively. I think both sides would be relatively evenly-matched depending on the gamemode, and it'd come down to a battle of skill, but if I had to say that one side had an advantage, Stock Ubercharge is hands-down one of if not THE most powerful thing in TF2.

Hell, depending on how you look at it, they might get the original, completely rendering stock’s advantages moot Pyro is basically unchanged, but unlocks have mobility, which is valuable on a range limited class Demo may not have the might of stickybomb launcher and the bottle melee, but he lore than makes up for jt via hybrid knight and the pain train Heavy can be used much more effectively due to having the lunchbox items and can get to places quicker and escape easier with the gru and fists of steel Engi may lose his shotgun and pistol, but the shotgun still has the panic attack, widowmaker and frontier hustice, all of which can put in that same work. And although the lack of pistol is a boon, the power of the short circuit and wrangler more than make up for it Sniper is also relatively unchanged on account of bazaar bargain, machina and heatmaker, but he has valuable secondaries, even an smg if you wanted it Medic is an interesting case as although none of the other Ubers can match stock, they all have the benefit of being able to come up much faster than stock can, especially on account of those rocket jumping soldiers from earlier. Even if they do pop it, unlocks have ways to counter it, even if they’re not the best (airblast, the shortstop, the huntsman, the holiday punch and ubersaw) Spy again, is relatively unchanged

I'd highly recommend watching The Amazing Digital Circus. And to watch it especially. Don't just watch it like you watch a regular KZbin video. Take your biggest and highest quality screen, sit down with some drink, food, blankets and whatnot, and just fully take the time to immerse yourself into the Circus. Trust me, it's worth it. I'm interested to know what you'll love about it! Also the community is not a bigger problem then the TF2 community. They're just more hyped.

The medic one is funny as I'm 100% certain ppl run away after calling medic because they think they're a spy. But as Pyro I gained the habit of doing a puff of fire to check them, which lead into all the other classes where I fire or swing a hit once to check. Don't run away from medics, even if they're a spy face them head on. Running away just shows them you're a cowards and an easy backstab/backshot :D
